Job Overview
This role demands a proactive and self-motivated professional to support the CEO Office in managing the UAE franchise. The position involves handling multiple responsibilities assigned by the CEO Office while maintaining a high level of trust and confidentiality, especially when interacting with senior stakeholders.
Key Accountabilities
- Collaborate in crafting and implementing a comprehensive strategy integrating all UAE business operations, ensuring alignment with Regional and Group objectives.
- Partner with the CEO Office and Country Management Team (CMT) to deliver country priorities, including strategy execution, budget oversight, scoring, and financial target achievement.
- Foster a unified 'One Bank' framework across business units and support functions.
- Ensure infrastructure readiness supporting business growth by advising on resource allocation encompassing personnel, facilities, technology, and processes.
- Prioritize and manage issues related to risk, controls, investments, personnel, projects, and organizational changes.
- Assist the People Leader with CEO Office processes including Crisis Management coordination, OCIR Country coordination, strategy, and governance oversight.
- Champion the development of a high-performance culture and act as an exemplar of the Group's values and standards.
- Participate in Country Risk Governance meetings, supporting oversight and resolution of key risk matters alongside risk owners.
- Represent the CEO Office at various forums as needed and support cross-business and cross-functional issue resolution.
- Maintain high governance standards across UAE operations, coordinating consistent practices through the CMT and ensuring effective corporate governance structures.
- Oversee project governance and strategic initiatives, holding teams accountable and challenging Group or Regional directives when necessary.
- Organize CMT meetings ensuring agenda effectiveness, minute taking, and attendance compliance.
- Prepare and deliver reports and updates to Regional and Group stakeholders, including various committee meetings and board updates.
- Balance Group goals with expectations of home and host regulators like FCA/PRA, CBUAE, DFSA, FSRA, and ESCA.
- Manage the closure of action items by following up on matters on behalf of the CEO Office and act as the primary contact for CEO initiatives.
- Respond proactively to issues arising, minimizing the need for escalation to the CEO.
- Uphold the highest standards of conduct, ethics, and compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and the Group Code of Conduct.
- Identify, escalate, and resolve risk, conduct, and compliance concerns collaboratively.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Coordinate closely with CEO Office across UAE, Middle East & Pakistan regions.
- Engage with the UAE Country Management Team, DIFC and ADGM Management Teams.
- Maintain communication channels with government officials and regulatory bodies.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proficiency in English and Arabic languages.
- Bachelor's degree or higher qualification.
