Job description
Position Overview
The Cigna Group in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, is seeking an Actuarial Analyst to join their expanding local actuarial team. This newly created role focuses primarily on the Saudi Arabian market, while collaborating closely with the wider actuarial teams across the Middle East and Africa regions. The role involves partnership with multiple business functions including Sales, Underwriting, and Product Development to support business growth and actuarial excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform data analytics, ensure accuracy through reconciliations, and manage data processing tasks.
- Contribute to actuarial pricing activities such as conducting experience studies, establishing book rates and assumptions, updating methodologies, and reviewing pricing for the Middle East and Africa regions.
- Analyze medical cost drivers and trends to improve the quality and accuracy of actuarial reports and analysis.
- Develop, test, and maintain pricing and underwriting tools to support business needs.
- Assist with monthly financial closing processes, including reserving operations, reviewing reserve assumptions, and explaining variances against forecasts.
- Support preparation and compilation of regulatory submissions as required.
- Work in close coordination with Sales, Client Management, Underwriting, and Finance teams to align actuarial work with broader company objectives.
Candidate Profile
- Holds an undergraduate degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Has progressed towards Associate level actuarial credentials from either the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries or the Society of Actuaries.
- Demonstrates commitment to pursuing Fellowship actuarial qualification.
- Is self-driven with a strong focus on achieving results and attention to detail.
- Possesses effective communication skills and proficiency in English—both spoken and written.
- Has up to three years of relevant work experience.
- While knowledge in health insurance concepts like clinical coding, reserving techniques, and pricing methodologies is not mandatory, it will be considered an advantage.
- Experience with MS Office and data analysis tools such as R, SQL, or Alteryx is favorable.
- Is open to occasional regional travel as part of the role.
