About the Role

New Life Youth serves individuals aged 11 to 21, focusing on mentoring to foster positive life changes, build resilience, and empower youths to initiate community improvements through nurturing relationships. We seek a dedicated Youth Worker to engage, support, and help young people achieve their potential via impactful programs and strong connections.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, organise, and execute activities that encourage the comprehensive growth and wellbeing of young people.
  • Offer mentorship, support, and guidance to young individuals, addressing challenges and assisting them in reaching personal goals.
  • Lead group sessions, workshops, and discussions covering health, education, life skills, and social development.
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders such as educators, social workers, and community organizations to support youth needs.
  • Keep detailed and confidential records in line with organisational standards.
  • Engage the community to identify and respond effectively to local youth interests and requirements.
  • Ensure a safe, welcoming, and inclusive atmosphere for all participants.
  • Stay informed about contemporary issues and trends affecting young people.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, or Youth Work is required.
  • 3 to 5 years of pertinent experience working with youth populations.
  • Fluency in English and a mother tongue language.
  • Demonstrated background in youth engagement roles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate young individuals from varied cultural and social backgrounds.
  • Strong grasp of the challenges faced by today's youth.
  • Capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Willingness to be flexible with working hours, including evenings and weekends.
