About the Role

This remote position seeks a talented writer in the United States focused on creating thoughtful, impactful content that highlights the work of nonprofit organizations serving youth and communities. The writer will develop strategic communication materials that elevate mission-driven initiatives and inspire engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce high-quality content for annual reports, organizational publications, and strategic communications projects.
  • Craft compelling case studies showcasing partner successes and organizational impact.
  • Ghostwrite thought leadership and executive articles based on interviews, research, and expert insights.
  • Interview internal and external stakeholders, including nonprofit leaders, to gather perspectives for storytelling.
  • Convert complex topics in youth development, education, philanthropy, and social impact into accessible narratives.
  • Adapt writing style to authentically represent different voices while maintaining consistency.
  • Work closely with communications and leadership teams throughout the editorial process, integrating feedback effectively.
  • Ensure all outputs follow brand guidelines, messaging goals, and accuracy standards.
  • Deliver diverse content forms such as website copy, newsletters, executive communications, and social impact stories.
  • Utilize AI tools judiciously to support research and workflows, ensuring editorial quality and a human-centered tone.

Candidate Requirements

  • Proven experience producing thought leadership, strategic communications content, case studies, or reports.
  • Background in nonprofit, foundation, association, or community-focused sectors.
  • Preferable knowledge of youth development, education, philanthropy, fundraising, or nonprofit operations.
  • Strong storytelling and interviewing abilities, capable of converting conversations into engaging content.
  • Experience writing for public-facing, media, or executive audiences.
  • Ability to adjust tone and style for multiple contributors and formats.
  • Excellent research, editing, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Experience in strategic communications or public affairs advantageous.
  • Familiarity with digital content strategies and thought leadership platforms is a plus.
  • Self-motivated and able to deliver polished content independently in a remote work setting.

Compensation and Engagement Details

  • Competitive hourly contract pay ranging from $30 to $35.
  • Fully remote work format.
  • Flexible commitment of approximately 100 hours across four months.
  • Potential contract extension depending on performance and organizational needs.

  • Collaborate closely with nonprofit leaders and communication professionals.
