Role Overview

The Youth Engagement Officer is a full-time position requiring onsite attendance in Harare. The role focuses on engaging young individuals and facilitating their career development via Job Connect's programs and services. Core duties encompass organizing outreach initiatives, workshops, and events that introduce youth to employment and skills enhancement opportunities. The officer must establish and nurture partnerships with schools, community groups, and local stakeholders to promote these offerings and boost youth involvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate outreach programs and workshops tailored to youth career development.
• Build and sustain relationships with educational institutions, community organizations, and local partners.
• Guide young individuals on effective job search techniques.
• Gather feedback from participants to refine services and programming.
• Prepare detailed activity reports documenting outreach efforts and outcomes.
• Collaborate with internal teams to create targeted youth engagement campaigns.
• Monitor program results to ensure objectives are met.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive environment for all participants.
• Represent Job Connect in community forums and relevant events.

Qualifications and Skills

• Proficiency in Community Service and Community Engagement to effectively mobilize and support youth.
• Strong verbal and written Communication skills for interaction with youth, partners, and colleagues.
• Training and facilitation capabilities to develop and conduct workshops and information sessions.
• Knowledge of safety protocols, safeguarding, and basic law enforcement practices related to youth work.
• Experience in youth-oriented programs, NGOs, schools, or community groups is advantageous.
• A diploma or degree in Social Work, Community Development, Education, Youth Studies, or analogous disciplines is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to plan and manage multiple events while maintaining accurate documentation.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, cultural awareness, and dedication to inclusivity and equal opportunity.
