Role Overview
The Writer’s Assistant will support the NXT creative writing team in Orlando, Florida, by helping manage writing operations, supporting live and taped production needs, and keeping communication and documentation accurate across departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Capture thorough, precise notes and use them to keep creative materials current, including scripts, talent lists, pay-per-view cards, and related documents.
- Join senior creative meetings with Paul Levesque, lead writers, and other members of the NXT writing team, while documenting discussions.
- Share meeting outcomes with the Lead Writer and relevant teams to keep information flowing across departments.
- Respond to instructions quickly, work carefully, and maintain a strong focus on accuracy.
- Support the writing team’s day-to-day work at the WWE Performance Center, including talent shoots and promo classes.
- Communicate clearly and proactively with lead writers, writers, performance center coaches, and other departments.
- Handle clerical and administrative work such as transcribing, copying, and printing.
- Partner with the Performance Center and NXT production teams, including props, talent, and travel, to make sure all production needs are in place for NXT TV tapings.
- Be present at all NXT TV tapings and help execute backstage and in-ring segments by coordinating talent, props, and other required items.
- Update scripts and taping documents during NXT shows, then copy and distribute the latest versions to the right people.
- Assist with directing and producing taped backstage scenes and live in-ring promo segments.
- Stay ahead of team needs and help keep the department running efficiently.
- Take on additional duties as needed.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience in TV writing and/or production is preferred, though not mandatory.
- Strong familiarity with WWE and NXT content is expected.
- Excellent time management and the ability to perform under pressure are important.
- A flexible schedule is required, including willingness to work long hours and travel when needed.
- Must be willing and able to travel occasionally for NXT TakeOver pay-per-view events and other road shows.
- Applicant should live within a reasonable commuting distance of the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida, or be willing to relocate.
- Must be organized, detail-focused, proactive, dependable, and eager to learn.
- A clean driving record and access to a vehicle for business use are required.
- Strong computer proficiency is needed, especially with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook, along with fast typing ability.
- Excellent note-taking skills are essential.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
- A BA/BS degree in Film/TV/Drama, Media Studies, Communications, English, or a related discipline is preferred but not essential.

This role is based in Orlando, Florida and is tied to the NXT creative and production environment at the WWE Performance Center. The position may involve long workdays, travel for selected events, and on-site participation in live television tapings.
