About the service

Role overview

The Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs team at Mackay Community Health Centre is looking for a Workforce Coordinator to join on a permanent part-time basis.

Key contribution

  • Support long-term workforce planning for the Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs division by working alongside divisional leaders to achieve and maintain workforce goals.
  • Track, interpret, and present workforce establishment data to the Mental Health Leadership Group so decisions can be made using up-to-date information about workforce needs and pressures.
  • Oversee vacancies and staff changes within the MHAOD workforce, coordinating closely with Team Leaders and the Senior Leadership Group to keep recruitment timely and aligned with legal, policy, and safety obligations.
  • Deliver senior-level guidance and practical operational support across the Mental Health and AODS Division, including to the Mental Health Leadership Group, to strengthen workforce management and decision-making.

About the team

The Mental Health and AOD Service includes eight clinical teams across Mackay HHS. It delivers specialised mental health assessment and treatment across all age groups for people experiencing severe and complex mental health concerns. Services are consumer-focused and recovery-oriented, and operate in community settings, an acute inpatient unit, hospitals, and emergency departments.
