Role Summary

The Women’s Rugby Player Coach will take charge of the women’s team’s attacking play and backline development at Ennis RFC. This position involves designing and running training sessions, building technical and tactical capability, supporting conditioning and skill improvement, and preparing match strategies. The coach will also oversee game-day duties, share constructive feedback through ongoing analysis and review, and work in close partnership with the Head Coach.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development of the women’s team attack and backline structure.
• Plan, organise, and deliver effective training sessions.
• Coach technical and tactical rugby skills to improve team performance.
• Support player conditioning and individual skill progression.
• Create and implement match plans for fixtures.
• Handle match-day coaching responsibilities and support team performance during games.
• Review performances regularly and provide useful feedback to players.
• Collaborate closely with the Head Coach and club support staff.

Qualifications

• Solid understanding and practical experience in Rugby Union and rugby coaching.
• Proven coaching background, including session planning, player development, and performance review.
• Strong playing experience at a high standard.
• Rugby coaching qualifications or sports coaching licences are preferred, or a willingness to work toward them.
• Ability to build a respectful, inclusive, and safe environment for players of different backgrounds and ability levels.
• Good communication, leadership, and organisation skills, with the ability to work with staff and volunteers.
• Availability in the evenings and on weekends, depending on training and match schedules.
