Role Overview

The Western Regional Vice President of Operations holds a pivotal leadership position responsible for overseeing operational activities and supervising Site CEOs within the Western region. This role works closely with the Senior Vice President of Operations to ensure all facilities maintain high performance, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and strategic alignment with company objectives. It demands fostering a culture of accountability, leadership excellence, and ongoing improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide operational guidance and support to Site CEOs to achieve full operational and financial success, including budget oversight and revenue enhancement.
  • Monitor performance metrics across departments and collaborate with Site CEOs on identifying improvement opportunities and executing corrective action plans.
  • Coach and mentor Site CEOs to develop effective leadership teams spanning medical, nursing, clinical, and support service areas.
  • Ensure site leadership and teams align with corporate policies related to admissions, staffing, business development, and financial services.
  • Oversee compliance with state, Joint Commission, insurer requirements, licensing standards, patient rights, and applicable criteria like ASAM.
  • Support preparation for audits and facilitate resolution of deficiencies, ensuring readiness for state and Joint Commission inspections.
  • Drive policy and procedure adherence across sites, addressing any gaps to maintain consistency and quality.
  • Guide staff onboarding, training, continuing education, and supervision to build high-performing teams.
  • Promote positive organizational culture focused on collaboration, client-centered care, and shared values.
  • Assess and fulfill resource needs including staffing ratios, facility maintenance, and operational support for safe, efficient operations.
  • Support community engagement and business development efforts to strengthen local presence and partnerships.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting from sites to senior leadership, maintaining transparency on operational and financial matters.
  • Assist with crisis management during critical incidents, regulatory challenges, or staff issues to enable prompt resolutions.
  • Collaborate on continuous improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and operational efficiency.
  • Perform additional duties assigned by Senior Vice President of Operations contributing to the organization's success.

Additional Information

This position is not fully remote and requires travel. Candidates residing within Central, Mountain, or Pacific time zones near a major airport are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Education: Master's degree plus 5 years of relevant administrative or supervisory experience in licensed addiction, psychiatric, or mental health facilities; or Bachelor's degree plus 7 years of similar experience; or 10+ years as a director in the field.
  • Experience: Demonstrated leadership in addiction, psychiatric, or mental health licensed facilities at administrative or supervisory levels.
  • Certifications: Basic First Aid and CPR certification required. Ability to maintain required licenses or certifications per company and state mandates.
  • Adherence to state and federal non-discrimination laws and drug-free workplace policies.
