Role overview
The Landkreis Cloppenburg is hiring two flexible site attendants for waste recycling and collection points as soon as possible. The position is permanent and is based across different recycling centres, mainly in the southern part of the district. Work is scheduled according to a roster.
Key duties
- Receive incoming waste, recyclable materials, and hazardous materials; check declarations and make sure the different waste streams are sorted correctly, especially green waste, brush cuttings, and electronic appliances.
- Hand out, collect, and exchange waste containers.
- Record data using a mobile cashier system and handle billing for the fees that must be charged.
- Take part in training sessions and staff meetings.
Working conditions and terms
- This is a permanent role with varied responsibilities as a relief worker across several waste collection sites.
- The average regular weekly working time is 14 hours.
- Employment is governed by the collective agreement for the public sector (TVöD).
- The role is graded at pay group 3 under TVöD.
- Benefits include public-sector supplementary pension coverage (VBL), annual special payment under TVöD, and participation in performance-based pay (LoB).

- The work is performed mainly outdoors and follows the fixed opening hours of the collection sites.
- Regular Saturday duty is part of the job.
Profile and requirements
- You should be friendly when dealing with customers, carry out tasks carefully, and be comfortable working both in a team and independently within assigned responsibilities.
- Basic IT skills are required.
- Good physical fitness is needed to support citizens, for example when exchanging waste containers.
- A valid Class B driving licence is required.
- You must be willing to use your own car and be reimbursed for travel costs according to the Lower Saxony Travel Expenses Act.
- Good German skills in speaking and writing are required, at least B2 level.
