Job Overview
As a working student in machine learning, you will contribute to developing models that predict failures in screw assembly processes. You will handle data analysis and preparation, perform feature engineering, assist in training and validating machine learning models, and incorporate practical insights from assembly, maintenance, and quality assurance. Collaboration across multiple production departments will offer you valuable exposure to AI applications in industrial manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in developing a machine learning model to forecast faults during screw assembly
- Analyze and process production and quality data
- Perform feature engineering and select relevant characteristics
- Support training and validation of ML models
- Integrate practical knowledge from assembly, maintenance, and quality control teams
- Interpret model outcomes and identify improvement opportunities
- Collaborate closely with various units within production
- Gain firsthand experience in implementing AI within an industrial setting
Candidate Profile
- Currently enrolled as a master’s student in (business) computer science, data science, mechanical engineering, or a related field
- Some experience or interest in machine learning, data analysis, AI applications, or statistical modeling
- Familiarity or enthusiasm for Python and common ML libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow) or data analysis tools
- Creative mindset with a willingness to contribute ideas and work independently
- Interest in industrial processes and modern technologies
- Strong teamwork skills and enjoyment in collaborating with diverse departments (production, quality, maintenance)
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills in German and English
