Job description
Role Overview
Fort Peck Community College is seeking a full-time Wellness Center Coach to support the Wolf Point Wellness Center. Reporting to the Fort Peck Goodness Project Director, this role blends personal training, member support, front desk coverage, and day-to-day fitness center operations for both students and the broader community.
What You’ll Do
- Welcome members, handle front desk activity, and assist with check-ins, memberships, and routine questions.
- Create safe, effective 30- to 60-minute personal training plans tailored to each person’s goals, needs, and physical ability.
- Guide and encourage members during training sessions when support is requested or needed.
- Watch over the fitness room while members are using equipment and provide direction on proper equipment use.
- Keep the facility, gym floor, and work areas clean, orderly, and welcoming.
- Promote personal training and healthy habits through positive example and member interaction.
- Track memberships, collect dues, and make regular deposits to the Business Office in Greet the Dawn.
- Close and secure the gym at the end of the day.
- Attend continuing education opportunities to stay current in the field.
- Support health education by sharing information about safe strength training and the factors that influence fitness, including diet, nutrition, clothing, footwear, and mindset.
- Carry out additional duties assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Associate degree, or progress toward one, is preferred.
- At least 1 to 2 years of work experience is required.
- Basic computer literacy and willingness to learn membership tracking software.
- Strong organization and interpersonal communication abilities.
- Ability to encourage others and help them build exercise routines.
- CPR certification must be obtained within 3 months of hire.
- Must be able to lift up to 45 lbs.
- Must have the physical, visual, and auditory ability to perform the essential duties of the position.
