Role overview
We are looking for a driven Welfare Officer cum Trainer who has a solid grasp of labour legislation, grievance-handling systems, and the ability to conduct effective training. The position involves working with factory committees, coordinating with both internal and external stakeholders, and helping resolve employee concerns in a way that supports positive workplace change. The selected person will contribute to training design and delivery, support complaint resolution processes, and champion workers’ interests.
Training and facilitation
The role includes planning and running workshops on labour law, grievance mechanisms, and health and safety for workers, committee members, and management teams. You will also create training content and conduct interactive, activity-led sessions that improve understanding and build practical skills.
Labour law and compliance
You will guide teams on compliance with labour regulations, especially in relation to grievance redressal and workplace health and safety. The job also involves reviewing compliance gaps and working with stakeholders to help implement corrective measures.
Grievance redressal support
This role requires helping set up and strengthen grievance-handling systems in factories. You will support discussions, mediate worker complaints, and help ensure that every concern is addressed through a fair and transparent process. You will also coordinate with internal and external committees to resolve workplace issues and protect workers’ rights.
Stakeholder engagement
You will build productive relationships with factory leadership, committee members, and trade unions to create a supportive environment for workers. In addition, you will communicate regularly with clients such as brands, suppliers, and NGO partners to share updates and resolve concerns.
Requirements
The ideal candidate should hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Social Work, Labor Studies, Human Resources, or a related discipline. At least 2 years of experience in labour law, grievance handling, or a similar area is needed. The role also calls for proven ability to design and facilitate training programs, knowledge of Indian labour laws, grievance systems, and health and safety rules, along with strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. A commitment to supporting workers’ rights is essential.
Preferred qualifications
Experience in the textile or manufacturing sector will be an advantage. Familiarity with supply chain compliance and social audits is also preferred. Knowledge of regional languages such as Tamil or Hindi is considered a plus.

This is a full-time, permanent role based in Tiruppur, Tamil Nadu, India.
