Role Overview
The Welding Inspector will be responsible for supporting welding inspection and quality control activities across relevant engineering and fabrication work. The position calls for strong technical understanding of welding practices, inspection documentation, and industry codes.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out welding inspection and quality control tasks with attention to compliance and workmanship.
- Review and verify welding procedures, including WPS, PQR, and welder qualification records.
- Apply knowledge of welding processes and inspection standards during day-to-day work.
- Use non-destructive testing awareness where needed, including VT, PT, MT, UT, and RT methods.
- Work in line with recognized international standards such as ASME, API, AWS, and ISO.
Requirements
- A diploma or bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Metallurgical, Welding, or another related engineering discipline.
- A valid CSWIP 3.1 certificate or CWI qualification is mandatory.
- At least 3 to 5 years of experience in welding inspection and quality control.
- Solid understanding of welding procedures, procedure qualification records, and welder certification.
- Preferred familiarity with NDT techniques such as VT, PT, MT, UT, and RT.
- Knowledge of major international codes and standards, including ASME, API, AWS, and ISO.
