Role Overview
Volunteer Marlborough is seeking individuals to join a weekend roster to assist with horse care tasks on Saturdays and Sundays. This is an excellent opportunity for fitness enthusiasts who enjoy outdoor activity and contributing to animal welfare.
Tasks and Time Commitment
- Morning duties involve feeding horses hay and hard feed, moving electric fences as directed, and cleaning paddocks. This activity typically lasts about two hours and provides a great physical workout alternative to the gym.
- Early evening duties include feeding hay and hard feed and relocating electric fencing as instructed, usually taking around one hour.
Candidate Requirements
- Comfort with horses and knowledge of safety practices when working in paddocks.
- Minimum age of 16 years.
- Capability to operate a farm utility vehicle; training will be provided.
- Physical fitness and ability to perform the tasks.
- Must be willing to undergo a police background check required for the role.
Schedule and Commitment Details
