Job description
About the Role
Leigh & Co. Events is a rapidly expanding wedding planning business that offers wedding design, coordination, and planning support for engaged couples. The Lead Wedding Coordinator is a contract opportunity for someone who wants to step into a hands-on wedding planner role. Training is provided, and you can choose the schedule that works best for you. The team is hiring for the 2026 season and future events as well.
This is a primarily onsite position where you will act as the lead planner for wedding-day execution. You will collaborate with client experience managers during planning and with assistant coordinators onsite to bring the event plan to life.
Compensation & Schedule
Pay is $400 per project for approximately 10 to 12 hours of work. This is a per-project contract role, and you will have the flexibility to select your own schedule.
Key Duties
The role covers the full wedding-day experience, from pre-event confirmation through final wrap-up. Responsibilities include client calls, rehearsal leadership, vendor coordination, ceremony and reception setup, and keeping the event on track throughout the day.
Responsibilities
- Join a final planning call with clients about six weeks before the wedding to review logistics, timing, and expectations.
- Run the rehearsal the day before the wedding and make sure everyone understands timing, procession order, and important cues.
- Act as the couple’s main onsite support, staying calm and solution-oriented if any issues come up.
- Supervise setup for the ceremony and reception so everything matches the design plan and day-of execution guide.
- Oversee the event from vendor arrival through end-of-night breakdown.
- Welcome vendors, guide them onsite, and serve as the central contact person for them.
- Share clear setup directions with vendors so the event is carried out correctly.
- Help place and arrange personal and event details such as escort cards, menus, table numbers, favors, guest books, and décor.
- Support the wedding party and family members with timing, direction, and day-of assistance.
- Make sure gifts, guest books, personal décor, and other end-of-event items are packed and accounted for.
- Handle last-minute changes and issues proactively so guests have a smooth experience.
Requirements
- Weekend availability is required.
- You need at least 2 years of experience working as a wedding planner or event planner.
- Strong communication skills and a sharp eye for detail are essential.
- You must have dependable transportation.
- You should be able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
Additional Information
This opportunity is intended for candidates who want to join the team for the 2026 season and beyond.
