About the Role

The Water Treatment Technician at Molecule Water Inc. is tasked with installing, operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing various water-related systems including swimming pools, fountains, water softeners, RO plants, and filtration equipment. The role ensures excellent water quality, safe operations, and customer contentment through timely servicing and diligent documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform regular cleaning and chemical balancing of swimming pools, balancing tanks, skimmers, strainers, and overflow channels.
  • Test water quality parameters such as pH, chlorine level, alkalinity, hardness, TDS, and cyanuric acid; dose chemicals appropriately including chlorine, acid, soda ash, algaecide, flocculant, and clarifier.
  • Maintain and clean filtration units such as sand and cartridge filters; inspect circulation pumps, dosing systems, UV systems, and heat pumps for correct operation.
  • Operate and service water treatment systems including water softeners, reverse osmosis (RO) plants, multimedia filters, activated carbon filters, and dosing mechanisms; carry out resin recharging, media replacement, membrane flushing, and routine maintenance.
  • Monitor water quality for inlet and outlet streams ensuring system efficiency; troubleshoot issues concerning flow, pressure, total dissolved solids, hardness, and equipment performance.
  • Install components like pumps, filters, piping, valves, underwater lighting, and control panels; repair leaks and replace defective valves, fittings, gauges, and electrical parts.
  • Support commissioning of new swimming pool and water treatment installations.
  • Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and plumbing faults; detect operational anomalies such as abnormal noises, vibrations, leaks, pressure loss, and equipment failures; suggest corrective and preventive maintenance actions.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate service reports, inspection checklists, chemical usage logs, equipment status, and spare parts records; escalate major concerns to management.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations professionally to clients and promptly address customer concerns during site visits.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines while handling chemicals and electrical equipment, use appropriate personal protective equipment, and maintain a tidy, safe work environment.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or ITI certification in Electrician, Fitter, or Plumber disciplines.
  • Addition of certification related to swimming pool operation or water treatment is advantageous.
  • 2 to 5 years of practical experience working with swimming pool maintenance, water treatment plants, RO systems, fountains, or MEP service fields.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Understanding of swimming pool filtration and circulation mechanics.
  • Competency in pool water chemistry and chemical dosing techniques.
  • Familiarity with RO plants, water softening units, filtration systems, and chemical dosing pumps.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills in plumbing and electrical systems.
  • Ability to interpret P&ID (Piping and Instrumentation Diagram) drawings and equipment layouts.
  • Effective communication and reporting capabilities.
  • Ability to perform duties independently and interact with customers on-site.
