Job Purpose
The Water Sports Supervisor serves as a site-based operational leader, ensuring the daily safe and smooth delivery of all water sports activities at the assigned location. This role coordinates instructors, guest interactions, and equipment readiness, upholding the highest operational standards, safety protocols, and guest service excellence in a luxury marine tourism setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Water Sports Manager in daily oversight and execution of water sports operations.
- Lead and supervise water sports instructors and operational staff to maintain safe, consistent, high-quality guest experiences.
- Manage scheduling, guest allocations, and resources for water sports activities.
- Ensure all activities comply with company standard operating procedures, safety mandates, and luxury service standards.
- Foster a professional, guest-centered, safety-first operational culture.
- Monitor daily execution of water sports, including readiness briefings and deployment of instructors as per schedule.
- Assess weather, sea conditions, and environmental factors to guarantee safe operations.
- Manage guest workflows from check-in through completion of activities.
- Oversee equipment preparation, inspection, and safety checks before operations.
- Serve as escalation contact for operations issues, guest concerns, or safety incidents.
- Coordinate efforts among boat crews, instructors, and support teams for aligned operations.
- Keep precise operational records such as activity logs and attendance sheets.
- Support pre-opening functions including setup of equipment, facilities, and operational procedures.
- Contribute to creating and refining operational protocols, safety standards, and workflows.
- Provide training assistance during pre-opening phases and validate equipment and zones before launch.
- Prioritize safety by enforcing compliance with risk assessments and emergency procedures.
- Conduct routine safety inspections of equipment and water sports areas.
- Advocate environmental awareness and responsible interaction with marine ecosystems.
- Maintain adherence to company and regulatory safety standards at all times.
- Provide leadership and on-the-job guidance to Water Sports Instructors to maintain consistent service quality and safety compliance.
- Support team performance evaluations and foster a positive, collaborative work culture.
- Ensure strict compliance with company policies, SOPs, and operational guidelines.
- Maintain comprehensive records of incidents, activities, and operational reports.
- Regularly update the Water Sports Manager on performance metrics, risk areas, and guest feedback.
- Identify and recommend improvements for operational efficiency, safety, and guest experiences.
- Support innovation in new water sports activities and guest programs.
- Contribute to developing and implementing best practices and process enhancements.
Qualifications & Experience
- Certification as a Water Sports Instructor or equivalent (e.g., ISA, RYA, or recognized authority).
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in water sports instruction or marine tourism operations.
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.
- Proficient in multiple water sports disciplines.
- Valid and current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Strong knowledge of water safety, rescue methods, and risk management.
