About the Role

The Maintenance Services Network (MSN) team in Mangere is seeking a Water Serviceperson. This role involves a variety of hands-on tasks related to water infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Performing installations and repairs on water pipes, mains, and fire hydrants.
  • Installing new water meters and relocating existing water connections.
  • Conducting maintenance on water networks.
  • Operating small diggers and loaders for excavation and backfilling of Watercare assets.
  • Undertaking minor infrastructure upgrades.
  • Participating in the on-call standby roster.
  • Committing to further studies and working towards the Water Industry Infrastructure works qualification through Connexis.
  • Engaging with customers and the public with a high standard of customer service.

About You

  • Proficiency in operating various hand tools and small plant machinery.
  • A strong work ethic, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Relevant experience in the water industry.
  • Possession of a full, clean NZ Driver’s Licence (Class 1). A Class 2 licence or R, T, W, F, D endorsements are advantageous.
  • A strong commitment to Health and Safety practices.
  • Flexibility to work within a roster that includes non-standard business hours and weekend work.
