About the Role
The Maintenance Services Network (MSN) team in Mangere is seeking a Water Serviceperson. This role involves a variety of hands-on tasks related to water infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Performing installations and repairs on water pipes, mains, and fire hydrants.
- Installing new water meters and relocating existing water connections.
- Conducting maintenance on water networks.
- Operating small diggers and loaders for excavation and backfilling of Watercare assets.
- Undertaking minor infrastructure upgrades.
- Participating in the on-call standby roster.
- Committing to further studies and working towards the Water Industry Infrastructure works qualification through Connexis.
- Engaging with customers and the public with a high standard of customer service.
About You
- Proficiency in operating various hand tools and small plant machinery.
- A strong work ethic, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Relevant experience in the water industry.
- Possession of a full, clean NZ Driver’s Licence (Class 1). A Class 2 licence or R, T, W, F, D endorsements are advantageous.
- A strong commitment to Health and Safety practices.
- Flexibility to work within a roster that includes non-standard business hours and weekend work.
