About the Role
Join a dedicated team responsible for sustaining Auckland's water networks. This practical position involves supporting maintenance, repair, and essential services across the region, focusing on water, wastewater, and stormwater systems.
Role Overview
You will contribute to the smooth operation of routine maintenance and urgent repairs, ensuring timely and effective fault response. Your duties will range from assisting with repairs to restoration activities, playing a vital role in preserving critical infrastructure and community connectivity.
Collaborating closely with supervisors and team members, you'll respond to customer requests, assist in resolving network issues, and execute tasks safely, efficiently, and with high quality. Accurate record-keeping and field data entry are part of daily responsibilities, along with aiding ongoing operational improvements.
Customer engagement is key, requiring clear communication to maintain excellent service levels and comply with contractual deadlines. This hands-on role offers growth opportunities, allowing you to advance your skills and work more autonomously over time. Participation in standby and callout rotations is also required to support emergency responses.
Candidate Profile
- Possess NCEA Level 2 qualification.
- Have some background or experience in infrastructure, civil works, or water-related sectors.
- Hold a full Class 1 driver's license; additional endorsements such as Class 2 and W, T, R are beneficial.
- Demonstrate strong teamwork and effective communication skills with colleagues and the public.
- Show problem-solving abilities and a proactive work approach.
- Be confident with technology, including mobile devices for data management and reporting.
- Maintain a strong commitment to safety, quality standards, and procedural compliance.
- Exhibit self-motivation, energy, and eagerness to learn and develop professionally.
