About the Role

Jacobs is dedicated to solving vital challenges impacting cities and environments globally. We are growing our Irish water sector team amid unprecedented investment, focusing on transformative infrastructure initiatives. As a Wastewater Modeller, you will play a key role in delivering influential modelling work that supports Ireland's largest water companies through all stages from feasibility to ongoing operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Project Managers and technical teams to deliver accurate and well-defined engineering solutions.
  • Develop, verify, and maintain network hydraulic models primarily using InfoWorks ICM software.
  • Evaluate system behaviour by analysing existing models across a variety of project phases.
  • Support the design of options to mitigate flooding and combined sewer overflow challenges.
  • Collaborate directly with client personnel, including conducting face-to-face progress meetings.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot issues related to drainage networks.
  • Plan and scope network surveys necessary for model updates and improvements.
  • Oversee and review weekly data submissions from contractors.
  • Produce detailed hydraulic reports and modelling studies for technical appraisal.
  • Design engineering measures to minimize development impacts and alleviate sewer flooding and overflow problems.
  • Contribute to cost estimation related to modelling assignments.
  • Supervise field surveys and site investigations to gather data.
  • Manage project planning, scheduling, coordination, and documentation.
  • Mentor and guide graduate engineers and technical staff.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Expertise with wastewater modelling software, including InfoAsset Manager and InfoWorks ICM.
  • Proficient in GIS applications such as MapInfo and ArcGIS.
  • Strong ability to align work with client specifications and adhere to industry standards.
  • Proven history of technical success and high client satisfaction within the water sector.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills fostering strong internal and client relationships.
  • Flexible, capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
