Overview
The Warehouse Specialist will be responsible for managing the receipt, issuance, and preparation for shipment of hazardous materials. Fluency in English is essential for successful communication in this role.
Primary Responsibilities
- Utilize DSS/WMS and other government data systems to fulfill Performance Work Statement (PWS) requirements.
- Conduct comprehensive material examination and identification duties, including classification, acceptance or rejection, and assigning condition codes for various classes like II, III, and IX.
- Load and unload materials on skids, pallets, and stands efficiently.
- Operate necessary tools and equipment to perform assigned duties safely and effectively.
- Operate Material Handling Equipment (MHE) when assigned, maintaining proper licensing.
- Accurately count, weigh, document data, and apply labeling and tagging to materials.
- Implement basic inspection and examination procedures for materials.
- Interpret specifications, drawings, prints, schematics, and photographs as required.
- Prepare detailed reports related to distribution activities.
- Conduct preventive maintenance and adjustments on relevant equipment.
- Perform additional assigned duties, particularly relating to working with hazardous materials.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- A minimum of three years of specific experience in distribution and warehousing of hazardous materials, utilizing DSS/WMS or equivalent warehouse management software within the past five years.
- Capability to obtain and maintain a license for operating Material Handling Equipment (MHE).
- Proficiency with Distribution Standard System (DSS) and other automated distribution systems used on-site.
- Competence in Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, Access, and business email applications.
- Ability to demonstrate a collaborative attitude and effective teamwork skills.
- Strong multitasking ability, adapted to fast-paced environments with attention to detail.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Saudi nationality with familiarity of local safety regulations and government procedures in Saudi Arabia.
- English fluency with strong communication capabilities.
- Excellent organizational and coordination skills complemented by emergency response proficiency.
- Team-oriented with a positive workplace attitude.
Physical Demands
Employees must be able to occasionally stand, walk, sit, handle or feel objects, operate office equipment, reach, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, and communicate effectively. Employees are expected to lift or move materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Continued employment depends on meeting fitness standards as evaluated by the Saudi Labor Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) through approved health facilities.
Work Environment
The role involves working indoors and outdoors in warehouse environments, as well as in office settings.
