Role Overview

We are looking for a dependable and detail-focused Warehouse Operative to join our Operations team. This position involves ensuring precise receipt, storage, movement, picking, packing, and dispatching of products in a dynamic distribution setting. The candidate will contribute to maintaining inventory accuracy, fulfilling orders, operating forklifts, upholding warehouse organization, and following health and safety protocols to guarantee timely and accurate customer order delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive and unload incoming shipments, verifying quantities and product details against documentation.
  • Inspect products for damages, report inconsistencies, and log receipts accurately using warehouse systems.
  • Store stock in assigned warehouse areas while keeping accurate stock records updated.
  • Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders according to company standards.
  • Complete shipment paperwork precisely and facilitate timely dispatch of orders.
  • Safely and efficiently operate forklift equipment for loading, unloading, and moving inventory.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counting, stock checking, and reconciliation processes.
  • Support stock movements, warehouse improvement activities, and operational projects.
  • Ensure the warehouse remains clean, organized, and safe at all times.
  • Adhere to Health & Safety policies, manual handling requirements, and personal protective equipment procedures.
  • Promptly report hazards, accidents, and near misses.
  • Collaborate effectively with fellow warehouse staff and other business departments.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

  • 1 to 2 years of experience in warehouse, logistics, or distribution roles.
  • Possession of a valid forklift license/certification (Counterbalance and/or Reach Truck).
  • Proven experience operating forklifts safely in warehouse environments.
  • Familiarity with inventory management and stock control procedures emphasizing accuracy.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Strong attention to detail in receiving, picking, and dispatching tasks.
  • Knowledge and commitment to Health & Safety practices in warehouses.
  • Capability to safely handle warehouse machinery and follow protocols.
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, lift, and move items throughout the shift.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

Desired Attributes

  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
  • Background in technology, electronics, or IT product distribution.
  • Use of handheld scanning devices.
  • Familiarity with serial number and asset tracking.
  • Involvement in inventory audits, stock takes, and reconciliations.
  • Experience in processing returns, RMAs, and warranty claims.
  • Understanding of Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) handling procedures.
  • Participation in warehouse continuous improvement and operational initiatives.
