Role summary

This position is responsible for building and running B2B wholesale fulfillment operations from the ground up, blending warehouse planning with day-to-day execution. The role requires creating scalable processes, ensuring retailer compliance, and sustaining high service standards for wholesale customers.

Warehouse setup and daily operations

  • Create warehouse floor plans that support wholesale volume across receiving, bulk storage, picking, packing, and staging areas.
  • Introduce warehouse management systems and document standard operating procedures for receiving, putaway, picking, packing, and shipping.
  • Maintain OSHA compliance, safety practices, and quality controls throughout the facility.
  • Drive ongoing improvements that increase throughput and lower operating costs.

Wholesale fulfillment management

  • Oversee the full order fulfillment cycle while meeting customer routing instructions, labeling rules, and packaging standards.
  • Manage EDI processes and ASN submissions to avoid chargebacks and protect vendor performance ratings.
  • Work closely with Sales and Customer Service to meet service-level commitments and solve fulfillment problems.
  • Handle retailer-specific needs such as special labels, pallet setups, and required paperwork.

Transportation and logistics coordination

  • Develop and manage relationships with carriers for LTL, FTL, and parcel shipping to achieve competitive pricing and dependable service.
  • Plan daily outbound shipments, arrange freight bookings, and support on-time delivery performance.
  • Prepare and check shipping paperwork, including bills of lading, packing lists, and customs documentation.
  • Track shipments and update stakeholders quickly when delays or exceptions arise.

Inventory control and team leadership

  • Protect inventory accuracy through cycle counts and full physical inventory audits.
  • Set reorder points and safety stock levels to reduce the risk of stockouts.
  • Hire, train, schedule, and coach warehouse staff while reviewing performance.
  • Build a team culture centered on safety, accountability, and operational discipline.

Qualifications and experience

A bachelor’s degree in supply chain, logistics, business, or a related field is preferred, although equivalent experience may be accepted. The ideal candidate brings 3 to 5 years of warehouse or logistics experience, including 1 to 2 years in a supervisory capacity. Direct experience in B2B wholesale fulfillment, along with knowledge of retailer routing guides and vendor compliance, is required. Prior involvement in warehouse setup or major operational improvement projects is also important.

Technical skills and working style

The role calls for strong command of WMS and ERP tools such as NetSuite, Manhattan, or similar systems, plus familiarity with EDI platforms, shipping software, and advanced Excel. Candidates should be analytical, organized, and effective communicators who make decisions using data. A practical, hands-on leadership style and the ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment are essential.

Performance goals

  • Order accuracy target: 99% or higher.
  • On-time in-full delivery target: 95% or higher.
  • Inventory accuracy target: 98% or higher.
  • Routing guide compliance target: 100%.

Physical demands

  • Work may involve a warehouse setting with changing temperatures and active equipment use.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and operate common warehouse equipment.
  • Requires comfort with standing, walking, and spending extended time on the warehouse floor.
  • Forklift certification is required, or the ability to obtain it is necessary.
