Role overview
The Canadian Red Cross is hiring a permanent full-time Warehouse and Maintenance Technician for in-person work in Kelowna, British Columbia. Key duties
- Check equipment for faults, identify issues, and complete repairs according to manufacturer instructions.
- Keep repair documentation current and maintain accurate equipment information in the inventory management system.
- Clean and disinfect health equipment in line with required standards.
- Move equipment between HELP locations and deliver, install, and collect equipment from clients’ homes following established procedures.
- Show clients and caregivers how to use and care for equipment correctly.
- Help onboard and support new staff and volunteers by sharing technical know-how and demonstrating procedures when needed.
Requirements
- Grade 12 completion or an equivalent level of education.
- Working knowledge of hand tools and basic power tools.
- Valid BC Class 5 driver’s licence.
- Ability to lift and carry loads of up to 80 lbs.
- Strong spoken communication, customer service skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with volunteers and people from diverse backgrounds is an advantage.
- Commercial driving and delivery experience is considered an asset.
- English fluency is required.
Working conditions
This role runs Monday to Friday and involves movement between the warehouse, other HELP sites, client homes, and assisted living facilities. The position may require sitting and standing for long periods and safely operating a vehicle for deliveries for as much as 75% of the workday. You may also be asked to work from other HELP locations.
