We seek an experienced VP Talent Acquisition Team Lead to strategically source and recruit top talent, proactively building a strong candidate pipeline aligned with both current and future workforce needs. This role involves full lifecycle recruiting, partnership management with staffing agencies, and improving the efficiency of the hiring process while representing the company positively to candidates.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead improvements to the applicant tracking system in collaboration with HR leadership, recommending system and process enhancements to optimize candidate data and workflow.
- Gather and analyze recruitment metrics such as resume volume, interview counts, hiring status, time-to-fill, and offer data; prepare and present reports to leadership regularly.
- Identify efficiencies by developing automations such as scripts, templates, and hiring profiles; document and suggest process improvements focused on reducing manual recruiting tasks.
- Maintain strong networks within the external labor market, candidate pools, agencies, educational institutions, and associations to access diverse, qualified talent.
- Understand business line needs, company culture, and urgency to tailor recruiting strategies effectively.
- Design targeted sourcing plans for openings using up-to-date technology and best practices, and promote roles via internal discussions and external platforms.
- Screen resumes and conduct initial phone interviews in accordance with internal policies, maintaining proper documentation throughout the process.
- Act as the first positive and knowledgeable point of contact for candidates to foster a strong employer brand and ensure an excellent candidate experience.
- Build and sustain partnerships with third-party temporary and contract recruiting agencies, negotiating terms to maintain a positive company reputation and cost-effectiveness.
- Coach hiring managers and junior recruitment staff to ensure hiring decisions align with business needs and fair assessment criteria.
- Advocate for diversity and inclusion by seeking varied candidate pools and addressing bias.
- Ensure all hiring records are accurately archived and compliant, ready for any legal scrutiny.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Leadership Duties
- Support the people manager in managing daily talent acquisition team operations.
- Foster an inclusive, communicative, and motivating team environment.
- Delegate tasks and set timelines to meet recruitment objectives.
- Identify team development needs and provide necessary coaching.
- Encourage confidence and maximize team performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 7 years recruitment experience.
- Preferred certifications include SHRM-CP, PHR, or SHRM Talent Acquisition Specialty.
- Familiarity with employment laws and regulations favored.
- Ability to work with urgency and meet deadlines is preferred.
- Excellent communication (verbal, written, interpersonal) skills preferred.
- Proven team collaboration and multitasking skills preferred.
- Strong organizational and prioritization abilities preferred.
Additional Details
Up to 25% travel may be required. Employment is contingent on passing background checks including credit, criminal, education, employment verification, OFAC, and social media screening.
