  • Set dealer standards, protect territories appropriately, and design incentive programs that reward strong performance.
  • Develop OEM affiliate partnerships to increase distribution volume.
  • Lead a sales team that can handle complex B2B capital equipment sales involving specification, bidding, and project-based selling.
  • Set revenue goals, pricing direction, and margin targets by channel and geography.

  • Personally lead important accounts and high-value deals when the opportunity requires senior involvement.
  • Define a single brand and go-to-market direction across internal marketing staff and two agency partners.
  • Make sure marketing spend in digital, trade shows, dealer co-op programs, and collateral drives measurable leads and dealer support.
  • Coordinate product launch marketing with manufacturing and engineering teams.
  • Set KPIs and reporting routines for all marketing activity, both internal and outsourced.
  • Own the combined sales and marketing P&L and review budget performance each month.
  • Contribute to company-wide strategic planning, including decisions about new products and market entry.
  • Bring market intelligence on competitors, pricing pressure, and industry trends in power generation, backup/standby, and prime power segments.
  • Work with operations and finance to align sales forecasts with production capacity and inventory planning.
  • Develop future leaders and strengthen the sales and marketing bench for scale.
  • Act as a key executive voice in growth and market expansion decisions.

Qualifications

  • At least 10 years of progressive leadership experience across sales and marketing, including a minimum of 5 years at VP or senior director level.
  • Background in capital equipment, industrial or commercial equipment manufacturing, or the power generation sector is strongly preferred, especially generators, engines, or related products.
  • Proven ability to build, grow, or reorganize a dealer or distributor network.
  • Experience leading direct B2B sales teams as well as marketing functions, either in-house or through agencies.
  • Strong financial understanding with hands-on experience in P&L ownership, forecasting, and margin management.
  • Must be willing to travel across the US and Caribbean regions.
  • Preferred exposure to OEM channel partnerships or private-label distribution models.
  • Preferred familiarity with bid/spec-driven sales in areas such as commercial construction, data centers, healthcare, and government.
  • Preferred experience in a closely held or family-run business environment and comfort working with founder/owner-led decision-making.

Success Measures

  • Achievement of 20% revenue growth and regional market share gains.
  • Improvement in gross margin performance by channel, including 25 points in retail and 20 points in dealer/wholesale channels.
  • Growth in marketing-sourced and dealer-supported leads, along with stronger conversion rates.
  • Successful alignment of marketing strategy across internal teams and external agencies.
