Job description

About Eliza

Eliza is a technology services firm focused on helping organizations design and deploy advanced AI systems. As an official OpenAI partner, the company works closely with enterprise customers on generative AI, custom LLM integrations, intelligent automation, multi-agent orchestration, AI software development lifecycle, and AI-driven decision systems. Its approach is to embed AI into existing teams, workflows, and systems and then step back.

The company has a team of about 40 people, operates remotely across the United States with an office in New York City, and is backed at the seed stage. It is expanding quickly as enterprise customers invest heavily in AI adoption across operational functions. Team members work as if they are part of the founding group, staying close to the work, the clients, and the decisions shaping the business.

About the Role

This position is focused on building AI solutions for healthcare organizations that need to modernize core operations for today’s AI capabilities. The opportunity spans care delivery, compliance, payments, and especially the high-friction area where revenue cycle, clinical operations, and payer requirements overlap. The business problem being targeted is claims accuracy and decision speed, which creates major inefficiency and error across the industry.

The right person will bring direct experience inside healthcare operations and understand how hospitals truly function: how claims flow, why denials happen, and how systems such as Epic are used in practice rather than only in presentations. The role also requires sound judgment on AI delivery, including what can be safely automated now, what needs deeper integration, and where clinical, compliance, or financial risk may arise.

This is a client-facing leadership role that involves shaping opportunities as well as selling them. You will work with senior healthcare decision-makers, including CFOs and leaders in revenue cycle and clinical operations, to define the problem, frame the solution, and own the engagement from the first conversation through delivery.

This is a high-impact opportunity at an early and fast-growing company, with the chance to help build a healthcare practice from the ground up while working on some of the most important applications of AI in healthcare.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build Eliza’s healthcare practice from the ground up and keep improving delivery in partnership with AI Product Managers and Forward Deployed Engineers.
  • Work directly with senior healthcare stakeholders to define the challenge, scope the work, and earn the engagement rather than only advising after the sale.
  • Decide what should be automated, what requires deeper system integration, and where the operational, clinical, compliance, or financial risk lies.
  • Convert technical and operational decisions into clear client-facing narratives that build trust and support execution.
  • Take ownership of the full engagement lifecycle, from statement-of-work creation to solution delivery.
  • Bring new thinking to complex healthcare workflows and challenge outdated approaches where needed.
  • Balance priorities across the healthcare practice and the wider business without losing focus on the highest-value work.

What Success Looks Like

  • You establish the foundation for Eliza’s healthcare vertical within the first few months.
  • The company becomes recognized as a leading name in AI professional services for healthcare.
  • You deliver several successful AI implementations across major healthcare clients with measurable results.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience working in complex healthcare implementations for large organizations, including at least 2 years in a leadership capacity, with strong knowledge of revenue cycle management, claims, denials, and the workflows where clinical, financial, and payer systems intersect.
  • Hands-on production experience with Epic; certification in Resolute HB/PB and/or Tapestry is a plus. Similar depth in another major EHR or health-system platform may also be considered.
  • Proven ability to work with senior healthcare buyers to scope, shape, and win engagements while owning the commercial process from initial discussion to signed work.
  • Strong practical judgment on AI delivery, with familiarity in LLMs, RAG, agentic and multi-agent systems, and prompt engineering.
  • Working knowledge of HIPAA, regulatory requirements, and data-security expectations in healthcare.
  • Understanding of interoperability standards such as HL7 and FHIR, and how healthcare data moves between systems.
  • Strong systems thinking, excellent communication skills, comfort with complexity, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders effectively.

Core Strengths

  • You continuously improve how work gets done and look for better operating methods.
  • You communicate clearly in written, verbal, and executive-facing settings.
  • You bring a creative, first-principles mindset and are willing to challenge conventional ideas.
  • You can simplify and manage fast-moving, multi-layered challenges.
  • You balance competing priorities while maintaining credibility with clinical and revenue-cycle leaders.

Benefits and Offerings

  • Equity in a seed-stage company with strong growth momentum in a major technology market.
  • Meaningful influence over how the company is built and operated.
  • Competitive base pay with performance-based incentives tied to outcomes, plus healthcare coverage and retirement investment plans.
  • Work-from-home stipend for home office setup.
  • Opportunity to solve new and meaningful problems for healthcare organizations undergoing AI transformation.
  • A fast-moving, high-caliber team that values trust and collaboration.
  • Flexible work setup with occasional on-site client engagement when it adds value.

Additional Information

The role is described as a chance to help transform healthcare delivery in the United States, reduce costs, and improve patient experience. The company states that revenue is growing by more than double every quarter.
