Job description

Role overview

Tomorrow.io helps governments and public institutions respond to weather and climate risk with greater speed and better decision-making. In this regional leadership role, you will be responsible for growing the government business across APAC, closing and expanding multi-year public-sector agreements, and acting as a senior external face of the company with government stakeholders, partners, and international organizations.

This position combines regional strategy with direct deal execution. You will handle the most significant and complex opportunities in the region while setting up the team, process, and partner network needed for sustainable growth.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the government business for the region, covering pipeline creation, deal progression, and revenue achievement across priority sectors.
  • Manage the full sales cycle for complex public-sector opportunities, including market entry, opportunity development, procurement, contracting, and renewal or expansion.
  • Develop and sustain relationships at senior level with ministries, regulators, public agencies, and state-owned organizations tied to key use cases.
  • Help shape government initiatives that support national priorities, modernization, resilience planning, and operational preparedness.
  • Run and coordinate RFPs, tenders, and multi-stakeholder initiatives, including donor- or IFI-funded programs when relevant such as World Bank, ADB, AfDB, IDB, USAID, and JICA.
  • Build and oversee a regional partner network made up of systems integrators, local partners, international bodies, and strategic collaborators.
  • Work closely with product, solutions engineering, legal, finance, and delivery teams to adapt offerings and support successful contract delivery.
  • Keep the sales pipeline grounded in budget reality and provide reliable forecasts to executive leadership.
  • Use executive support where needed, including the founder/CSO, while personally driving deals toward closure.
  • Represent the company at senior government meetings, industry forums, and international conferences.
  • Travel domestically and internationally as needed, up to 30%.
  • Initially manage a small regional sales team and grow it over time, taking responsibility for performance, coaching, and subject-matter expertise across the team.

What you need

  • Fluent English skills; additional regional languages are a strong advantage.
  • At least 15 years of experience in government, institutional, or enterprise sales involving complex, multi-year public-sector deals.
  • Strong history of closing large government contracts, preferably in SaaS, data, infrastructure, or technology-led solutions.
  • Solid understanding of public procurement, government budgeting cycles, and multi-stakeholder decision-making.
  • Hands-on experience handling tenders and RFPs in regulated environments.
  • Prior people leadership experience, including setting expectations, coaching senior sellers, and managing regional sales performance.
  • Confidence working with senior officials and political stakeholders, with good judgment and diplomacy.
  • Ability to separate genuine funded opportunities from political interest and to maintain disciplined forecasting.
  • Experience building regional teams and partner ecosystems.
  • Comfort working in a startup setting where strategy and execution both matter.
  • Self-driven, accountable, and motivated by mission and action.
