About the Role
Join the Marlborough Riding for Disabled team in providing support to our Farm Caretaker by engaging in various property upkeep and gardening tasks. Our expansive 24-acre property near Blenheim features 17 paddocks, yards, stables, and both indoor and outdoor arenas. Volunteers like you play a vital role in maintaining the facility to a high standard.
The organization offers equine therapy programs benefiting children, youth, and adults living with disabilities in the Marlborough region. We operate with a dedicated small team of staff and roughly 30 volunteers assisting in various capacities.
Responsibilities
- Perform lawn mowing and gardening duties to upkeep the property.
- Assist in general maintenance around paddocks, yards, stables, and arenas.
- Work as a collaborative member of the volunteer team supporting the farm operations.
Requirements
- Be at least 16 years old.
- Maintain good physical condition and demonstrate a positive attitude.
- Undergo a Police background check as a prerequisite for participation.
- Provide your own suitable outdoor footwear for tasks.
Time Commitment
- Flexible schedule with an expectation of a few hours per week.
