Role Overview
Heartbeat Health is hiring a Medical Assistant for its virtual clinic to work Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM MST. This position supports patients throughout their care journey, helping with intake, visit preparation, coordination, and follow-up in a fully remote environment.
Patient Care Support
- Take over patient handoffs from internal and external call transfers and help move the intake process forward.
- Confirm patient contact details and ensure records are accurate.
- Set up the patient’s first physician appointment.
- Coordinate how baseline vital signs will be captured.
- Complete the initial KCCQ survey.
- Collect baseline vitals, including weight, when possible.
- Handle medication reconciliation.
- Review and confirm medical history and diagnostic details.
- Coordinate lab work and diagnostic testing.
- Get patients ready for physician appointments.
- Check that video and audio connections work, and add interpreters when required.
- Obtain signed consent forms.
- Capture photos of insurance cards.
Clinical Duties
- Use translator services to communicate with patients who do not speak English.
- Prepare charts before visits.
- Start visits and support the clinical workflow.
- Document symptoms accurately.
- Record height, weight, and vitals from outside records or patient-reported information.
- Enter the patient’s preferred pharmacy into the chart under Profile.
- Stay in close contact with the provider and share any information relevant to the visit.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Arrange follow-up visits.
- Call patients to confirm next-day appointments.
- Review charts for completeness.
- Prepare charts for the next day’s appointments.
Qualifications
Applicants should have a high school diploma or an equivalent credential. A Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification is required. The ideal candidate has 1 to 3 years of experience as a Medical Assistant in cardiology and has also worked in virtual care.
