Job description
About GymGrow
GymGrow is a done-for-you growth and marketing consultancy that supports independent gym owners across the UK. The team manages paid advertising, CRM automation, and sales pipelines for more than 75 gym clients. In addition, the company is developing Grow HQ, a SaaS gym management platform, and RevOS, a related sales pipeline product. Founder Lewis Clare previously built his experience by running two Hotbox Training Club gyms remotely from Dubai. The business exists to help other gym owners build and scale in a similar way.
Role overview
This position combines social media management with executive assistant support. You will be responsible for driving content across Lewis’s personal channels and GymGrow’s channels, including planning, short-form clipping, editor coordination, and consistent posting. Alongside the content work, you will also provide day-to-day administrative support so Lewis can concentrate on higher-value business priorities. The role suits someone who works quickly, needs little supervision after receiving direction, and is comfortable balancing two different kinds of work in the same day.
Social media and content responsibilities
- Maintain regular posting across Lewis’s and GymGrow’s social channels, including Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and LinkedIn where appropriate.
- Transform longer recordings such as gym tours, talks, calls, and talking-head videos into short-form clips and posts.
- Handle basic video editing independently, including cutting, captioning, pacing, and simple graphic work, rather than depending entirely on editors.
- Provide clear briefs, direction, and feedback to external editors so the final output aligns with the brand.
- Create captions and written copy that reflect GymGrow’s tone of voice.
- Maintain a content calendar and publishing schedule to keep channels active and avoid last-minute work.
- Monitor performance and share content insights to help shape future planning.
Executive assistant responsibilities
- Assist Lewis with everyday administrative tasks such as inbox management, calendar coordination, scheduling, and basic organisation.
- Convert raw footage, notes, or voice recordings from Lewis into content that is ready to publish.
- Provide general ad hoc support to reduce Lewis’s workload and free up time for more important tasks.
What the company is looking for
- A solid grasp of social media, particularly Instagram, including what formats, styles, and trends perform well.
- Strong copywriting skills with the ability to produce attention-grabbing hooks and captions.
- Comfort with basic video editing tools such as CapCut or Premiere, and the ability to edit content personally rather than only supervising others.
- Excellent organisation and a proactive approach, with the ability to balance admin work and content work together.
- A dependable, self-driven attitude and the confidence to take a brief and execute it independently.
- Previous exposure to fitness, gym, coaching, or consultancy environments is an added advantage.
Trial period and compensation
The role begins with a one-month paid trial at £2,000. This is a real working trial for both sides, meaning you will carry out the full role from day one while both parties assess fit before deciding on a longer-term arrangement.
Application instructions
To apply, record a Loom video of three minutes or less explaining why you are a strong match for the role, and send it with the subject line Social media & Exec Assistant Role.
