Role overview
This is a leadership opportunity to take charge of a long-standing retirement village in Nelson and continue strengthening its reputation for excellent resident experience. The position sits with Ryman Healthcare at Ernest Rutherford Retirement Village and focuses on guiding day-to-day operations, elevating team performance, and delivering strong commercial results.
You will work closely with residents, family members, team leaders, and support-office specialists to create a welcoming, well-run environment where people feel supported and connected. The role also involves identifying improvement opportunities, leading change, and keeping the village performing strongly across resident experience, people leadership, sales, finance, safety, and operational delivery.
What you'll do
- Take responsibility for a well-established retirement village and build on its strong resident experience reputation.
- Lead and develop a large multidisciplinary team to achieve consistently high standards.
- Strengthen commercial performance while maintaining a positive resident and customer experience.
- Oversee efficient, safe, and sustainable village operations.
- Work with residents, families, the leadership group, and support teams to maintain a connected community.
- Spot opportunities for improvement and drive practical change initiatives.
- Balance customer outcomes, team capability, financial performance, sales, and operational excellence.
