Job description
About Comp AI
Comp AI is rethinking compliance and security with AI agents that replace a lot of the manual work companies still handle by hand, such as collecting evidence, maintaining policies, and preparing for audits. The platform is built for organizations that need continuous support across frameworks like SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, GDPR, and similar standards. The company has grown quickly, reaching 700 customers in its first year, and is continuing to scale rapidly.
The team is small, fast-moving, and set up so that each person’s work has a direct impact on the product and the business.
About the Role
Comp AI is looking for a Videographer / Creative Producer to own the company’s on-screen presence from start to finish. This role is for a versatile video creator who can develop an idea, capture it, edit it, and deliver a finished piece that gets attention.
The content should feel cinematic, quick, and native to social platforms, with strong pacing, documentary-style realism, and motion graphics used to support the story. You will work closely with the founders and growth team, learn what performs best, and continuously improve the output. The role takes over a function the founder has been handling and is intended to expand it as the company scales from 19 to 40 employees this year.
What You’ll Do
- Lead shoots from planning through execution, including lighting, framing, filming, and capturing talking-head videos, b-roll, product footage, events, and spontaneous social content.
- Apply strong judgment in composition, lighting, and on-location audio recording.
- Keep the full capture-to-edit workflow organized while using the professional equipment provided by the company.
- Edit your own footage end to end, including structure, pacing, graphics, sound, color work, and final export.
- Focus on retention by tightening edits, improving the hook, and keeping viewers engaged until the end.
- Maintain a consistent visual identity across all published content.
- Deliver content quickly, usually within days, and use performance feedback to improve the next round.
- Create both short-form and long-form video for channels such as Reels, TikTok, Shorts, LinkedIn, YouTube, and brand or product videos.
- Bring new concepts and series ideas, not just execution, and turn those ideas into finished content.
- Collaborate closely with founders and the growth team from concept through final delivery.
- Respond well to feedback, move quickly through revisions, and take responsibility for creative direction.
- Track how your work affects views, watch time, and engagement, then use those insights to guide future output.
Candidate Profile
The ideal person has several years of professional video experience as a hands-on generalist and can show a reel that demonstrates both shooting and editing ability. You should be comfortable handling production tasks on location, be fluent in a professional editing suite, and have strong instincts for storytelling, rhythm, and audience retention.
Motion graphics ability is important, and experience with color correction and audio cleanup will help you succeed. The role also requires independence, strong time management, and the ability to maintain quality without close supervision.
Good-to-Have Experience
- Experience producing content for social platforms with an understanding of what performs on each one.
- Familiarity with AI-powered editing tools in everyday workflow.
- Background creating engaging B2B, SaaS, or technology content for technical audiences.
- Additional strengths in sound design, audio mixing, or broader motion and brand design.
- Experience handling the full process solo, from concept development to publishing, in a fast startup environment.
How You Work
- You approach the work like an owner and take full responsibility for the outcome.
- You use AI to speed up production while staying accountable for what goes live.
- You prefer shipping and testing quickly over over-polishing for long periods.
- You have strong creative opinions, but you are willing to adjust them based on results.
What This Role Is Not
- This is not a role focused only on shooting or only on editing; you own the entire pipeline.
- This is not a hands-off position; you are expected to film, edit, create graphics, and deliver the final piece yourself.
- This is not a slow-moving content role with rare output; the team works on a real publishing cadence and iterates based on performance.
Why Comp AI
- You join at a high-growth stage while the company is still scaling rapidly.
- The work has direct business impact, since the content is a major way the market discovers the company.
- Meaningful equity is part of the package, giving you upside in the company’s growth.
- You will have direct access to founders, with decisions made quickly and collaboratively.
Compensation and Logistics
The base salary range is $80,000 to $100,000 per year, with meaningful equity of approximately 0.10% to 0.30%. Title and level will vary based on experience.
This is a hybrid role in New York City. You will need to be in person for shoots and team time, while still having flexibility to edit remotely. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Gear Provided
The company supplies a full professional setup, so you do not need to bring your own kit. Equipment includes Sony FX3 and Sony FX30 cameras, Sigma zoom and prime lenses, Ronin and DJI gimbals, professional lighting and audio kits, and a high-end MacBook Pro.
Perks
- Unlimited paid time off, in addition to U.S. federal holidays.
- Health, dental, and vision coverage fully paid by the company.
- Quarterly team offsites for connection and team building.
- Opportunity to work with a highly capable team and learn from strong peers.
Application Note
Applicants should share a reel or portfolio along with a brief note describing their favorite piece of work they have shot and edited, and why it stands out to them. The company prioritizes the quality of your work over your past employers.
