About Greenlight
Greenlight is a leading family-focused fintech company dedicated to empowering parents and children to become financially savvy. Serving over 6 million users, Greenlight offers an award-winning banking app that helps families automate allowances, manage chores, set spending controls, and invest in their future. The company's mission is to help children grow into financially secure and knowledgeable adults.
Role Overview
We are searching for a Video Editor specializing in paid social media campaigns who will transform creative briefs, raw footage, and creator content into engaging, fast-paced short videos tailored for platforms like Meta, TikTok, and YouTube. This entry-level to early-career position offers hands-on production work focused on crafting compelling video content that drives performance. A passion for storytelling, rapid editing, and learning to connect edits with strategic outcomes is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Create short-form videos from briefs and creator submissions optimized for paid social channels.
- Design impactful hooks and maintain engaging pacing within the first few seconds to capture audience attention.
- Produce multiple video variations including diverse lengths, formats, captions, and hooks for testing across social platforms.
- Collaborate closely with creative strategists to grasp the rationale behind briefs and translate those into effective visual storytelling.
- Incorporate feedback focusing on strategic goals rather than just aesthetics.
- Continuously identify ways to enhance edits by analyzing prior campaign results.
- Edit videos to meet platform specifications, including safe zones, captioning, and native creative guidelines.
- Stay well-informed about current trends, formats, and successful editing techniques in the paid social landscape.
- Refine unpolished raw footage from creators into compelling, on-brief final content.
- Highlight and resolve any missing elements in creator footage that could affect final video quality.
- Engage in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with other editors, strategists, and brand teams.
- Respond constructively to feedback and manage quick revision cycles while maintaining quality.
- Organize project files, versions, and exports to facilitate smooth workflow and handoffs.
Candidate Profile
- 1 to 3 years’ experience in video editing for paid social media, digital marketing, or social platforms, from agency or brand environments, or freelancing.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in short-form video editing, including pacing, hooks, captions, and platform-specific formatting.
- Proficient with video editing tools such as Premiere Pro and/or CapCut; knowledge of After Effects is a plus.
- Solid grasp of specifications, trends, and best practices for Meta, TikTok, and YouTube video content.
- Keen eye for elements that boost content performance and curiosity about leveraging data insights.
- Ability to work creatively with raw and imperfect footage to produce polished videos.
- Highly organized, detail-focused, and capable of managing multiple file versions and deadlines.
- Self-motivated and coachable, able to handle feedback and eager to improve speed and versatility.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience editing user-generated or creator content specifically for paid advertising.
- Familiarity with fintech, family financial services, or subscription-based consumer products.
- Basic skills in motion graphics or animation.
- Experience interpreting paid social performance metrics like click-through rates and engagement to inform editing decisions.
Benefits
- Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision plans with health savings account contributions.
- Paid life insurance, accident, and disability coverage.
- 401(k) retirement savings plan with company matching contributions.
- Unlimited paid time off plus paid company and additional bonus holidays.
- Professional development resources and stipends.
- Mental health support programs.
- Access to one-on-one financial planning services.
- Fertility and parental healthcare benefits.
- Fully paid parental and caregiving leave with supplemental support services during leave.
- Flexible work-from-home options and hybrid office opportunities.
- Onsite perks including stocked kitchens, catered lunches, and social events.
- Participation in employee resource groups fostering inclusivity.
