About Greenlight

Greenlight is a top family-focused fintech company dedicated to empowering parents and children to develop strong financial skills. Serving over six million families through our award-winning banking app, we enable parents to manage allowances, chores, spending controls, and investments for their families. Our mission is to ensure every child has the chance to become financially informed and confident.

Role Overview

We are searching for a Video Editor specialized in Paid Social to translate our creative strategies into captivating, short-form videos tailored for platforms such as Meta, TikTok, and YouTube. This role is ideal for an editor early in their career who possesses sharp instincts for pacing, hooks, and platform-specific storytelling and wishes to hone those skills using real engagement data.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create short-form videos from briefs, raw footage, and creator content optimized for paid social campaigns.
  • Develop compelling hooks within the first 1-3 seconds to capture viewer attention and maintain engagement throughout the video.
  • Produce multiple versions of each video varying in length, aspect ratio, hooks, and captions for platform testing.
  • Collaborate with creative strategists to understand the rationale behind briefs and make visual decisions accordingly.
  • Integrate feedback focused on strategic objectives rather than aesthetic preferences.
  • Identify enhancement opportunities based on insights from previous campaigns.
  • Edit videos with correct platform specifications, safe zones, captions/subtitles, and native creative styles for Meta, TikTok, and YouTube.
  • Stay updated on trends, formats, and editing techniques succeeding in paid social media.
  • Transform raw creator footage into polished videos aligned with briefs.
  • Recognize limitations in creator-submitted footage and help devise solutions to improve content.
  • Work closely with strategists, brand teams, and other editors within a fast-paced, iterative production environment.
  • Respond constructively to feedback and revise edits quickly without compromising quality.
  • Maintain organized project files, manage versions, and exports to ensure smooth handoffs and tracking.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of experience editing videos for paid social, social media, or digital marketing, including agency, brand, or freelance work.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in short-form editing, including pacing, hooks, captions, and platform-specific formatting.
  • Proficiency with editing software such as Premiere Pro and/or CapCut; knowledge of After Effects is an advantage.
  • Understanding of technical specifications, current trends, and best practices for Meta, TikTok, and YouTube.
  • Ability to discern what drives content performance and eagerness to learn the data and strategy behind it.
  • Skilled at enhancing raw, imperfect creator footage into high-quality assets.
  • Highly organized with meticulous attention to version control and timely deliverables under deadline pressure.
  • Self-motivated and coachable with a strong desire to improve speed and breadth over time.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with user-generated content or creator footage specifically for paid advertising.
  • Familiarity with fintech, family finance, or consumer subscription services.
  • Basic skills in motion graphics or animation.
  • Comfort in interpreting paid social media performance data such as click-through rates, hook rates, and thumb-stop rates to guide edits.

Employee Benefits

  • Comprehensive medical, dental, vision coverage and Health Savings Account (HSA) match.
  • Paid life insurance, accidental death and dismemberment, and disability insurance.
  • Traditional 401(k) plan with company matching contributions.
  • Unlimited paid time off and paid company holidays including bonus holidays.
  • Funds for professional development and access to mental health resources.
  • One-on-one financial planning support.
  • Fertility healthcare assistance.
  • Paid parental and caregiving leaves plus additional support such as cleaning services and meals during leave.
  • Flexible remote working options along with in-office opportunities.
  • Office perks including stocked kitchen, catered lunches, and occasional social events.
  • Employee resource groups promoting inclusion and belonging.

Compensation and Diversity Commitment

Greenlight offers a competitive salary package determined by location, experience, and skills, alongside performance bonuses, equity rewards, benefits, and 401(k) matching. Estimated base salary ranges from $55,000 to $95,000 in high cost-of-living states (NY, CA, WA), and $55,000 to $85,000 in other regions like Colorado.
