Job description

Role overview

The Video Editor Lead is the senior editor on the Creative Media team, responsible for guiding post-production work while creating polished video assets that fuel marketing, brand, ecommerce, retail, and social media efforts. This position works closely with the Senior Creative Media Director to set editing benchmarks, strengthen production processes, and keep the visual style consistent across all video output.

This is a hands-on leadership role with a strong day-to-day editing focus. In addition to building final video deliverables, the lead provides direction, support, and mentorship to other editors and creative teammates. The role also helps uphold post-production quality, refine workflows, and partner across teams to produce engaging content in a fast-moving creative setting.

Key responsibilities

The position centers on editing high-impact video content from concept through final delivery while also contributing to team leadership and workflow improvement.

Required experience and skills

Candidates should bring a background in film, video production, multimedia, communications, or a similar area, or comparable professional experience. The role calls for at least 5 years of professional video editing work, including experience leading complex creative projects.

Strong command of Adobe Premiere Pro and the broader Adobe Creative Cloud suite is essential. The ideal candidate also has advanced capability in storytelling, editing craft, color correction, audio work, and motion graphics, along with experience coaching or leading creative professionals or freelancers.

Success in this role requires the ability to juggle several priority projects at once, maintain excellent organization, communicate clearly, collaborate well, and make practical creative decisions that support business goals.

Nice-to-have background

Helpful experience includes leading post-production work for consumer packaged goods, health and wellness, or lifestyle brands; producing assets for Amazon, paid social, retail marketing, and ecommerce; and working with Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, or DaVinci Resolve.

Additional advantages include managing freelance editors or agency partners, familiarity with new video technologies and AI-assisted editing tools, awareness of current social media trends, and hands-on photography or videography experience.

Location

This is an onsite role based in San Pedro, California.
