Role Overview
This leadership position bridges corporate strategy, business development, and partnership management within the media and entertainment sector. Successful candidates will adeptly assess new business opportunities, coordinate internal teams, and advance high-impact initiatives from concept through execution, demonstrating commercial insight, strategic thinking, financial literacy, and effective project management amid ambiguity.
Core Duties
- Lead critical business development efforts across film, television, digital platforms, branded content, live events, talent-driven ventures, and new IP projects.
- Assess inbound and internally generated proposals to gauge strategic alignment, commercial potential, resource requirements, and implementation steps.
- Structure and advance negotiations with stakeholders including talent, brands, distributors, platforms, agencies, and production partners.
- Produce clear internal documentation such as business cases, deal summaries, and action plans from early-stage concepts.
- Maintain momentum across active business development projects, ensuring accountability and alignment of next steps among internal teams.
- Coordinate cross-functional internal collaboration to streamline decision-making and highlight key risks and opportunities.
Strategic Planning and Alignment
- Contribute to the long-term strategic planning by converting company priorities into actionable business development efforts.
- Collaborate closely with senior executives and department leads to prioritize opportunities, allocate resources, and refine execution plans.
- Prepare strategic presentations and materials supporting leadership, board meetings, partner discussions, and external pitches.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and internal priorities to provide clear recommendations.
- Organize ambiguous opportunities to facilitate swift and informed leadership decisions.
Financial & Commercial Analysis
- Develop streamlined business plans, financial models, and opportunity assessments for new ventures.
- Analyze deal economics, revenue projections, associated costs, risks, and strategic benefits.
- Assist in negotiation discussions by clarifying business rationale, deal structures, value drivers, and priorities.
- Interpret budgets, financial forecasts, and income statements to evaluate commercial viability.
- Critically evaluate if new concepts have potential to become sustainable and scalable business models.
Knowledge, Experience and Skills Required
- 7 to 10 years of progressive experience in strategy, business development, partnerships, corporate or talent representation, consulting, or related media, sports, or entertainment sectors, demonstrating a record of delivering commercial successes.
- Comprehensive understanding of the media and entertainment landscape, including content production, talent, distribution channels, licensing, brand collaborations, digital media, and live experiences.
- Proven expertise in identifying, evaluating, structuring, and executing strategic partnerships or growth initiatives from conception to ongoing management.
- Experience spearheading commercial negotiations and managing cross-functional deal processes with balanced consideration of creative, operational, and financial factors.
- Strong financial skills encompassing business case development, financial modeling, market research, and investment analysis to support strategic decisions.
- Outstanding strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities, adept at transforming unclear information into straightforward recommendations and executable plans.
- Excellent project leadership and execution skills enabling independent management of multiple high-priority initiatives from start to finish.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with creative, production, legal, finance, talent, and executive stakeholders both internally and externally.
- Established network and credibility within media, entertainment, sports, branding, agency, and talent communities, with the capacity to nurture and grow strategic alliances.
- Superior communication and presentation skills for creating concise memos, presentations, and strategic advice aimed at leadership teams.
