Job description
Role overview
Isaac Operations is a consulting firm that works directly inside client organizations to improve performance in sectors such as manufacturing, shipbuilding, automotive, food and beverage, aerospace and defense, and energy. Its technology practice sits at the crossroads of consulting, custom software, analytics, and digital transformation.
The company is hiring a Vice President of Technology to guide and expand this practice, shape its long-term direction, and help build the next phase of the business. This senior leadership role combines enterprise technology strategy, executive client partnership, and technical oversight. The position carries responsibility for both team performance and overall growth of the technology business.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned technology leader who can quickly assess complex operational problems, align senior stakeholders on a practical technology strategy, and communicate confidently with executives while also engaging deeply with technical teams. The role is based in Toronto at the Liberty Village office, with a flexible setup that still requires in-person presence at least three days each week on average, plus additional travel to client sites when needed.
Strategic leadership
- Set and own the long-range vision for the technology practice, including how solutions are designed, delivered, and scaled across client work.
- Position technology as a key differentiator in Isaac’s consulting offering and overall value to clients.
- Create and drive a multi-year plan covering capabilities, platforms, tools, and talent, and remain accountable for execution.
- Develop the company’s perspective on emerging technologies and advise internal leaders and clients on practical adoption.
Technical delivery
- Define expectations for technical quality so that all solutions are scalable, commercially viable, and aligned to business outcomes.
- Provide senior-level oversight of the technology portfolio while empowering technical leads and maintaining responsibility for delivery, risk, and client satisfaction.
- Put in place the operating models, processes, and governance needed for a growing team to deliver reliably.
- Act as the final escalation point for project steering and delivery decisions.
Client growth and business development
- Represent the technology practice as the most senior technology leader in client conversations, building trusted relationships with executive stakeholders.
- Own the growth plan for the business, including pipeline creation, market positioning, and revenue goals.
- Lead complex client discussions from discovery through contract close, bringing both technical credibility and commercial judgment.
- Work with consulting leadership to align technology strategy with broader client programs.
- Strengthen retention and expansion by delivering consistently, managing executive relationships proactively, and identifying new value opportunities.
Team leadership and culture
- Lead and coach a growing group of developers, data analysts, and technology consultants.
- Build a performance-driven culture centered on ownership, accountability, and continual development.
- Design the structure, talent approach, and career growth paths needed to attract and keep strong technical talent.
- Partner with executive leadership on workforce planning, compensation, and organizational design.
Qualifications
- 10 to 15 years of progressive experience in technology, including at least 5 years in senior leadership or executive roles.
- Experience leading a technology practice, business unit, or P&L in consulting, professional services, or custom software.
- Strong technical understanding of software development, systems architecture, and data analytics, with sound judgment for organizational-level decisions.
- Proven ability to build and scale high-performing technology teams and develop future leaders.
- Demonstrated success in business development and revenue growth, including managing client relationships and closing complex deals.
- Executive-level communication skills and presence, with the ability to influence both senior stakeholders and technical teams.
- Experience with industrial, operational, or manufacturing clients is a strong advantage.
- Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to lead clearly in fast-moving, complex environments.
Benefits and additional information
- Competitive compensation.
- Five weeks of vacation for all employees.
- Work that has a tangible impact for clients.
- A collaborative team environment with people who enjoy working together.
- No weekend work.
- A benefits package fully covered by the company.
- An annual wellness allowance.
- Participation in company-sponsored events and activities.
This posting is for an existing vacancy. Final compensation will be determined fairly based on relevant experience, expertise, and fit with the role’s responsibilities. The highest end of the pay range is generally reserved for candidates with exceptional depth in the core competencies, a strong record of impact in similar settings, and the ability to work with a high degree of independence from day one.
