About RareOne

RareOne Group is designing a contemporary platform aimed at empowering independent marketing agencies to expand with the agility, focus, and creativity they cherish, as if they were large enterprises. With a shared infrastructure encompassing talent, systems, and support, RareOne unites premier agencies allowing them accelerated growth without compromising their individuality. The group includes three agencies—MKR, RingoFire, and MightyUnion—and about 100 employees, with ambitious expansion plans. This role is remote with occasional travel, preferably based in the U.S. Eastern or Central time zones.

Role Overview

The company is seeking a strategic, people-oriented Vice President of Talent & Development to build and expand the human resources function across all RareOne agencies from the platform level. This leadership position involves creating and managing recruiting, leadership development, and culture strategies by closely collaborating with executive teams, focusing on growth rather than maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable recruitment strategies spanning multiple agencies.
  • Collaborate with leadership on workforce planning and hiring initiatives.
  • Develop robust talent pipelines for critical and future leadership roles.
  • Enhance employer branding to attract top creative, technical, and leadership professionals.
  • Improve the candidate journey and reduce time-to-hire metrics.
  • Create programs that boost employee engagement, morale, and retention.
  • Establish feedback mechanisms such as surveys and continuous loops to translate insights into actionable plans.
  • Maintain a cohesive company culture across agencies while preserving individual brand identity.
  • Lead internal communications concerning people and culture matters.
  • Develop structured career progression paths within roles and across agencies.
  • Build and expand learning and development initiatives.
  • Implement performance management systems to promote growth and accountability.
  • Support internal talent mobility and promotions.
  • Provide leadership training, coaching for agency managers, and onboarding programs.
  • Strengthen leadership capabilities and bench strength throughout the organization.
  • Align people strategies with business goals alongside executive leadership.
  • Identify opportunities to standardize best HR practices across agencies.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor on all personnel-related issues.
  • Work in partnership with the PEO to ensure seamless HR operations including payroll, benefits, and compliance.

Candidate Requirements

  • More than 10 years of progressive leadership experience in HR or People functions.
  • Preferred background in agencies, professional services, or organizations with multiple entities.
  • Track record of successfully creating recruiting, learning & development, and engagement programs from the ground up.
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to influence senior leadership.
  • Experience collaborating with or operating alongside a Professional Employer Organization (PEO) is advantageous.
  • A proactive builder mentality, passionate about creating new processes rather than merely sustaining existing ones.

Measures of Success

  • Establishing strong and consistent talent pipelines across RareOne's agencies.
  • Achieving high levels of employee engagement and retention.
  • Developing managers who are confident and adept leaders.
  • Providing transparent career pathways and development opportunities that span all agencies.
  • Crafting a unified, high-performing culture that accommodates multiple brands.

Why Join RareOne

  • Make a significant impact by shaping people strategies across a growing agency platform.
  • Opportunity to build systems, programs, and cultural frameworks from inception.
  • Work directly with founders and agency executives, gaining executive-level exposure.
  • Participate in a company undergoing active growth and expansion.

Location and Travel

  • Fully remote position within the United States.
  • Preference given to candidates working in Eastern or Central time zones.
  • Requires occasional travel.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Base salary range of $180,000 to $210,000 annually.
  • Eligibility for performance bonuses.
  • Potential opportunity for equity participation.
  • Comprehensive benefits including health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Flexible, remote-first work environment.
  • Professional development opportunities as the company scales.
