About the Company

Ninety One Asia is a Singapore-based asset management firm specializing in investment opportunities that underpin China's sustainable and long-term development. They emphasize delivering stable and risk-conscious returns by investing in sectors and businesses aligned with key structural trends in China. Their approach merges disciplined research with responsible investment, fostering an environment valuing analytical rigor, ethics, and sustainable partnerships with investors. The team works in a globally minded, collaborative culture where integrity and research excellence are paramount.

Role Overview

The Vice President of Strategic Projects plays a pivotal role in steering the firm's growth initiatives and investment strategies. This remote position leads the lifecycle of critical cross-departmental projects such as evaluating new markets, rolling out product enhancements, optimizing operations, and establishing strategic alliances. The VP transforms analytical insights into actionable recommendations for top leadership and coordinates with teams across investment, risk, compliance, and operations. Project oversight includes managing schedules, resource distribution, risk mitigation, and ensuring transparent stakeholder communications and documentation, with a strong emphasis on both strategic planning and process improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, organize, and implement large-scale, cross-functional initiatives that advance the company’s business goals.
  • Conduct thorough analysis and research, generating data-driven insights to support project recommendations.
  • Develop and present comprehensive reports and materials for executive decision-making and investor outreach.
  • Collaborate with teams across investments, operations, risk, and compliance to align project goals and drive execution.
  • Monitor project timelines, performance metrics, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Proactively identify and address risks, ensuring timely delivery of project milestones.
  • Support company-wide strategic planning, process optimization, and initiatives to enhance scalability and operational effectiveness.
  • Assist in the development of materials for fundraising activities and investor communications.

Qualifications

  • Expertise in strategic planning and leadership of complex projects within asset management or financial services.
  • Demonstrated experience in analytics, research, and quantitative methodologies applied to financial markets.
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills, capable of conveying nuanced information to diverse stakeholders.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of asset management, investment products, and capital markets; specific experience with China- or Asia-focused investments highly advantageous.
  • Capacity to thrive in a remote role, independently balancing multiple projects, and working across time zones and cultural contexts.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related discipline is required; advanced degrees (e.g., MBA) or designations (CFA) are seen as strengths.
  • Track record of process improvement, implementing change, and maintaining robust governance and risk controls.
  • Strong ethical standards, meticulous attention to detail, and commitment to sustainability in investment practices.
