Role Summary
The Vice President of Projects is a full-time remote leadership position accountable for guiding the planning, execution, and successful completion of strategic initiatives across the business. This person will direct project and program teams, set priorities, and make sure deadlines, budgets, and quality expectations are met. The role partners with executive leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to define scope, coordinate resources, and handle risks and dependencies. Core duties include tracking the project portfolio, reviewing performance indicators, removing blockers for delivery teams, and updating senior leadership on progress and results. The position also involves building stronger project practices, improving delivery frameworks, and coaching project leaders to elevate overall capability.
Qualifications
- Proven background in leading large, complex projects or programs involving multiple functions from start to finish.
- Solid experience in project and portfolio management, including scheduling, budgeting, resource planning, and risk control.
- Ability to create and roll out consistent project management methods and process enhancements.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities, with the confidence to influence both executive and operational groups.
- Experience leading, supporting, and developing project managers and dispersed teams in remote or hybrid settings.
- Strong analytical and strategic judgment, with the ability to read data and use it to guide decisions.
- Comfort working with digital collaboration tools and project management platforms.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, management, engineering, or a related discipline; an advanced degree or certifications such as PMP, PgMP, or Agile are helpful.
- Demonstrated success in leading organizational change, improving delivery performance, and producing measurable business impact.
- Capability to work across time zones, balance competing priorities, and stay accountable in a remote environment.
