The right leader will help standardize the processes that should be consistent and raise the overall impact of the project management function.
What You Will Do
- Guide and grow Project and Program Managers, including leading leaders who manage other managers.
- Oversee core project controls, including scope, timelines, budgets, change orders, and margin results.
- Develop and refine project management processes, systems, and forecasting routines across the organization.
- Work closely with Sales, Engineering, and Operations to address constraints, lower risk, and keep delivery on track.
Experience and Skills Needed
- At least 10 years of experience in project or program management within manufacturing, custom fabrication, or construction.
- At least 5 years in senior project management leadership, with direct exposure to projects in the $500K to $5M+ range.
- Strong understanding of financial performance and comfort working with ERP and project management tools, with Epicor preferred.
- A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- PMP, Lean, or Six Sigma credentials are considered an advantage.
A Day in the Role
Your day may begin with a review of portfolio status, including schedule movement, margin pressure, and any customer decisions that could affect the next production slot. You will likely spend part of the morning in quick conversations with PM leaders to remove blockers and align priorities. Later, you may evaluate project forecasts and change-order updates, verify assumptions with teams on the floor, and turn those insights into clear communication for executives and customers. The day may end with process or dashboard improvements that make future decisions faster and more reliable.
