Vice President of Project Management

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Vice President of Project Management to oversee our global Project Management Office (PMO). Reporting directly to the COO or CEO, this leadership role involves guiding the successful planning, execution, governance, and delivery of enterprise-wide initiatives and complex projects across multiple functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Formulate and execute the company’s global project management strategy, aligning initiatives with business priorities and corporate goals.
• Develop and enforce enterprise-wide project governance, standards, and methodologies to ensure consistency and accountability.
• Steer portfolio planning and prioritization to optimize business value and resource allocation.
• Collaborate closely with executive leadership including the CEO, COO, and Board of Directors to align project investments and present performance, risks, and strategic insights.
• Lead the management of strategic portfolios involving multiple business units and regions, ensuring projects adhere to scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards.
• Build and direct a top-tier Enterprise PMO by standardizing processes, implementing best practices, and fostering continuous improvement and operational excellence.
• Oversee risk identification, mitigation strategies, budgeting, forecasting, resource planning, and manage vendor relationships and complex escalations.
• Drive digital transformation and process optimization initiatives using Agile, Scrum, SAFe, Lean, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery frameworks.
• Establish and monitor executive KPIs such as project delivery success rate, budget and schedule variances, resource utilization, ROI, quality, customer satisfaction, risk mitigation, and PMO maturity.
• Ensure effective cross-functional leadership by coordinating with departments such as Product, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Finance, IT, Legal, HR, Procurement, and Executive Management.
• Recruit, mentor, and develop a strong global team of project and program directors, managers, Scrum Masters, and analysts, promoting leadership development and succession planning.
• Champion a culture emphasizing accountability, collaboration, transparency, innovation, diversity, and continuous learning throughout the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Engineering, Computer Science, IT, Operations Management, or related disciplines; MBA or Master’s degree preferred.
• Over 20 years of progressive experience in project, program, portfolio management, PMO leadership, or operations.
• At least 10 years in leadership roles managing enterprise or global PMOs.
• Proven track record leading large-scale, cross-functional, multi-million-dollar initiatives in complex industries such as SaaS, FinTech, Blockchain, AI, Cloud Computing, Healthcare, or Manufacturing.
• Expertise in Agile, Scrum, SAFe, Lean, Waterfall, portfolio, change and risk management.
• Strong executive communication and presentation skills, including reports to boards and senior stakeholders.
• Exceptional leadership, organizational, negotiation, and strategic planning capabilities.
