Overview

Dovetail Capital is searching for a seasoned and strategic Vice President of Project Management to direct the company's global Project Management Office (PMO). This role involves overseeing the planning, execution, governance, and successful completion of enterprise-wide strategic initiatives. Reporting directly to the COO or CEO, the VP will establish enterprise project governance, manage global project portfolios, lead business transformation, and ensure that projects meet deadlines, budgets, scopes, and align with the organization's goals.

Key Duties

  • Develop and implement the enterprise project management strategy consistent with corporate vision and business goals.
  • Build and lead a world-class PMO with standardized governance, methodologies, policies, and reporting frameworks.
  • Create long-term project portfolio strategies to foster organizational growth and digital transformation.
  • Advise executive leadership on strategic projects, investments, priorities, and portfolio health.
  • Drive enterprise-wide project governance, responsibility, and excellence in execution.
  • Enhance PMO maturity and promote best practices across business units.
  • Foster a culture of transparency, collaboration, innovation, and operational excellence.
  • Oversee enterprise project portfolio planning, prioritization, and execution of multiple global strategic programs.
  • Define project selection based on strategic value, risk, and ROI, managing project lifecycles and monitoring financial and schedule performance.
  • Conduct executive portfolio reviews and ensure alignment with compliance and organizational objectives.
  • Ensure successful delivery of complex enterprise initiatives adhering to quality, scope, schedule, cost, and compliance standards.
  • Standardize delivery methodologies including Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, Hybrid, and SAFe; enhance execution via automation, AI tools, and collaboration platforms.
  • Lead enterprise digital transformation and organizational change, managing projects such as ERP, CRM, cloud migration, AI implementations, and enterprise software rollouts.
  • Develop change management strategies, improve business processes, and support mergers, acquisitions, system integrations, and global expansions.
  • Manage resources, risk, and finances across projects, optimizing workforce utilization, budgets, forecasts, and vendor relationships.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with leadership from Product, Engineering, IT, Sales, Marketing, Finance, HR, Legal, and Procurement to drive enterprise initiatives.
  • Develop and monitor executive KPIs such as project delivery success rate, on-time completion, budget and schedule variances, ROI, resource utilization, risk and change success rates, stakeholder satisfaction, and project quality.
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing global PMO team, including directors, program and portfolio managers, Scrum Masters, Agile coaches, and analysts.
  • Promote leadership development, professional certification, continuous learning, and organizational capability improvement within the PMO.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Engineering, IT, Operations Management, or related field; MBA or Master’s preferred.
  • Minimum of 20 years progressive experience in project and program management, PMO leadership, or enterprise transformation.
  • At least 10 years in leadership managing enterprise PMOs and global project portfolios.
  • Proven results leading enterprise transformations, digital modernization, and strategic initiatives.
  • Experience in SaaS, FinTech, Blockchain, Cryptocurrency, AI, Cloud Computing, or enterprise software is highly desirable.
  • Strong capabilities in Agile methodologies, portfolio management, executive governance, budgeting, risk management, and organizational leadership.
  • Excellent communication, strategic planning, and stakeholder engagement skills at executive levels.
