Position Overview
The Vice President of Product Operations will lead the strategy and execution for the organization’s product operations function. This executive role spans product lifecycle oversight, commercialization, user operations, data analysis, and operational performance improvement. The objective is to ensure products stay aligned with market needs while increasing user value, competitive strength, and business returns.
The role centers on product operations paired with commercial growth, analytics-led decision-making, and ongoing optimization. By creating consistent operating frameworks, improving internal processes, and strengthening collaboration across teams, the leader will help improve product market results, customer satisfaction, and overall company performance.
Core Responsibilities
- Build and direct the product operations strategy and annual operating plan.
- Create the company-wide product operations framework, standards, and governance policies.
- Set product operations goals and growth direction in line with broader business strategy.
- Oversee the complete product lifecycle, including launch, promotion, optimization, and retirement.
- Track product performance and operational health, and guide continuous product improvements.
- Develop go-to-market and commercialization plans for new and existing products.
- Support pricing, revenue growth, profitability, scaling, and market expansion initiatives.
- Define SOPs and execution plans for product operations to improve quality and efficiency.
- Strengthen user operations by analyzing behavior, needs, engagement, retention, and growth.
- Improve customer success outcomes, customer satisfaction, loyalty, and lifetime value.
- Establish product analytics and KPI reporting frameworks, including dashboards and performance reports.
- Use product, revenue, usage, retention, and conversion data to support leadership decisions.
- Partner with product, engineering, marketing, sales, customer success, and service teams to align execution.
- Drive process automation, digital transformation, and adoption of operational tools such as CRM and analytics platforms.
- Implement performance management systems to evaluate product business results and profitability.
- Lead team building, talent development, and performance management for product operations, analytics, and user operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Business Administration, Marketing, Product Management, Computer Science, Information Management, Economics, or a related discipline.
- MBA or a relevant master’s degree is preferred.
- At least 25 years of experience in product operations, product management, business operations, or internet operations.
- Minimum 10 years of senior leadership experience at Director or VP level.
- Background in large organizations and/or industries such as internet, SaaS, technology, healthcare, finance, or retail is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with product commercialization and product growth.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and coordinate resources across departments.
- Strong capability in strategy development, lifecycle management, business analysis, user operations, digital operations, and organizational leadership.
Eligibility
Experienced senior professionals with deep expertise in product operations or related functions are suitable for this role, especially those with executive leadership experience across product, commercial, analytics, and cross-functional operating environments.
