Role Overview
The Vice President of Operations is the top operational leader for the brand, accountable for improving franchise performance, strengthening system-wide execution, and advancing operational excellence. This position partners closely with the Brand President to carry out the brand’s strategy and priorities while keeping franchise support, training, marketing, and operations fully aligned.
This opportunity is with Bumble Bee Blinds, a fast-scaling franchise brand in the custom window treatment space. Location and Travel
This role may be based anywhere in the continental United States. If the selected candidate is located outside the Omaha, Nebraska metropolitan area, travel of up to 30% each month is required.
Primary Responsibilities
- Work with the Brand President to turn strategic priorities and long-term growth plans into executable operational actions.
- Carry out the brand’s roadmap and key initiatives while ensuring organization-wide alignment.
- Bring forward franchisee feedback and operational observations that support continuous improvement.
- Help guide organizational and franchisee change efforts through clear communication, alignment, and accountability.
- Coordinate across functions to maintain consistency and strong execution throughout the franchise system.
- Strengthen franchisee performance by setting operational standards, accountability mechanisms, and clear expectations across the network.
- Track key business indicators such as revenue growth, close rate, gross margin, lead conversion, customer satisfaction, and profitability.
- Spot operational risks, underperformance, and improvement opportunities, then work with Franchise Business Coaches to resolve them.
- Lead, coach, and develop the Franchise Business Coach team while reinforcing a culture of ownership, consistency, and growth.
- Support hiring, onboarding, and development of future Franchise Business Coaches.
- Collaborate with marketing, training, technology, finance, and support teams to ensure effective implementation of brand initiatives.
- Oversee rollout, communication, training, and adoption of operational tools, systems, technology, and process improvements.
- Monitor operational KPIs and overall system health to identify trends and areas needing attention.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and strategic partners that contribute to franchisee success.
- Support franchise growth efforts through Discovery Days, candidate discussions, brand presentations, and operational validation conversations.
- Partner with onboarding and training teams so new franchisees are prepared for launch and long-term success.
- Assist with operational onboarding, academy training, and post-launch coaching.
- Reinforce brand standards, operational expectations, and cultural fit across the full franchisee lifecycle.
- Perform additional duties as needed.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in franchise operations, with home services franchise experience strongly preferred.
- At least 3 years of leadership experience in operations.
- Strong strategic and analytical ability with the skill to turn insights into actionable plans.
- Background as a Franchise Business Coach, direct work with FBCs, or leadership of an FBC team is highly preferred.
- Proven ability to coach and influence franchise owners to improve revenue, profitability, customer experience, and operational execution.
- Ability to perform the essential functions of an office-based role, including sitting, standing, seeing, hearing, speaking, using computers and office equipment, and lifting computer equipment and supplies.
- Ability to travel as required, up to 30% per month when based outside the Omaha metro area.
- Willingness to work in typical office conditions and request reasonable accommodations when needed.
