Role Overview
The Vice President of Operations Strategy is a senior leadership position responsible for designing and implementing strategies that enhance organizational performance, operational scalability, and foster sustainable long-term growth. This person acts as a pivotal link between corporate strategic planning and day-to-day operational execution, converting broad business aims into detailed operational plans, performance improvement programs, and cross-functional initiatives.
Primary Responsibilities
- Devise and deploy comprehensive operations strategies in alignment with overarching corporate goals.
- Translate strategic corporate priorities into concrete action plans and operational frameworks.
- Assess organizational capabilities, current operating models, and workflow processes for improvement opportunities.
- Pinpoint areas to boost scalability, productivity, and overall operational effectiveness.
- Drive long-range strategic planning and support executive decision-making.
- Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs), analyzing metrics related to productivity, costs, capacity, and operational trends.
- Detect performance gaps and formulate targeted improvement strategies.
- Deliver insightful recommendations and actionable data-driven analysis to executive leadership.
- Lead operational performance reviews and steer strategic discussions regularly.
- Develop and refine operating models to support scalable business growth.
- Optimize organizational structure, workflows, decision-making rights, and foster cross-department coordination.
- Evaluate and plan resource allocation and organizational capacity to meet business demands.
- Head enterprise-wide transformation and operational excellence initiatives, focusing on process simplification and friction reduction.
- Implement continuous improvement systems and support adoption of new technologies and operational methods.
- Lead execution of strategic, high-priority cross-functional projects with clear milestones and accountability.
- Collaborate closely with finance and business units on resource alignment, budgeting, forecasting, and investment evaluation.
- Partner with various departments including operations, finance, product, technology, sales, marketing, customer success, and HR to ensure strong strategic and operational integration.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Finance, Economics, Strategy, Engineering, or related disciplines; MBA or advanced qualifications preferred.
- Over 15 years of progressively responsible experience in operations strategy, corporate strategy, business operations, management consulting, or transformation roles.
- Demonstrated expertise in creating and executing enterprise-level operational strategies.
- Strong aptitude in analytics, strategic planning, financial management, and operational leadership.
- Successful track record leading complex, multi-functional initiatives.
- Excellent executive-level communication, stakeholder management and influence capabilities.
Preferred Background
- Experience in investment management sectors such as private equity, venture capital, institutional investing, or strategic finance within fintech or technology-based financial platforms.
- Background in corporate strategy, operational excellence, business turnarounds, and management consulting.
- Exposure to global or multi-regional corporate environments and collaboration with senior executive teams including CEOs, COOs, CSOs, and Boards of Directors.
- Familiarity with enterprise performance tools, business intelligence systems, workflow automation, and operational analytics platforms.
