Overview
The Vice President of Operations, Northeast, is entrusted with leading and optimizing operational functions across specialty dental practices to promote growth and operational excellence. This leader will guide teams, develop strategic relationships, and implement best practices to ensure business goals are met while fostering continuous improvement across all locations.

Key Responsibilities
- Create and follow a quarterly schedule for practice visits and lead by example during bi-weekly site visits to maximize financial performance and growth.
- Establish and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with partner and associate doctors, aligning them with Specialty1’s vision and handling escalated concerns alongside the COO.
- Manage onboarding and off-boarding of associates, including growth plans and transitions to partnership models, ensuring rapid production ramp-up.
- Collaborate with COO, HR, and Payroll to resolve payroll and related issues.
- Mentor Regional Directors of Operations (RDOs) with regular one-on-one meetings and growth-focused development plans.
- Restructure and grow the RDO team as needed to support organic and acquisition-driven growth while managing regional budgets.
- Lead monthly operational reviews with RDOs to develop SMART goals for EBITDA improvement.
- Deliver quarterly business reviews to COO and Finance, outlining successes, challenges, and strategic directions.
- Identify operational inefficiencies in practices; optimize doctor schedules, production, margins, and patient access.
- Partner with corporate leaders on initiatives including recruiting, marketing, compliance, technology implementation, and financial planning.
- Ensure adherence to company policies and SOPs in cooperation with compliance teams.
- Promote associate doctor retention through engagement and mentorship program support.
- Lead strategic initiatives with measurable outcomes and refine processes accordingly.
- Implement best practices for scheduling, insurance verification, payment collection, and revenue cycle management using various practice management systems.
- Develop proposals for regional growth opportunities and gain approval via SVP of Operations.
- Maintain knowledge of call center and telephone routing systems to enhance immediate patient appointment access.
- Communicate key performance indicators clearly to align teams with budget and performance goals, utilizing Excel and pivot tables.
- Facilitate change management and communication to operations teams focused on standardization and operational best practices.
- Oversee new practice launches, relocations, lease renewals, and equipment acquisitions in coordination with senior leadership.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, or related field.
- At least 7 years of operations management experience in healthcare or dental support settings.
- Proven leadership skills managing multiple locations and teams.
- Strong expertise in operational planning, process improvement, and managing organizational change.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence stakeholders effectively.
- Analytical and data-driven mindset with competency in KPI monitoring and reporting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables) and PowerPoint for reporting and presentations.
- Familiarity with HRIS platforms such as UKG and workflow tools like Smartsheet.
- Knowledge of call center telephony and phone routing to ensure rapid appointment scheduling (e.g., Ring Central).
