Vice President of Operational Excellence

Role Overview

The Vice President of Operational Excellence holds a key executive position charged with perfecting and continually enhancing the company's operations management system. This individual leads the development and execution of operational excellence strategies, spearheads process reengineering, champions lean management, and advances efficiency across all departments. Their mission centers on reducing costs, raising quality standards, and improving organizational performance through establishing standardized, digitalized, and perpetually advancing operational processes, thereby securing the company’s long-term competitiveness and sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement the company's comprehensive operational excellence strategy and medium to long-term improvement plans, transitioning from experience-based to standardized, process- and data-driven operations.
• Lead efforts in optimizing core business processes including business process reengineering; implement continuous improvement practices such as Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen to minimize waste and enhance efficiency, quality, and delivery.
• Develop enterprise-wide cost optimization frameworks, ensuring efficient resource allocation, reducing operating expenses, and boosting profit margins alongside asset utilization.
• Institute uniform operational standards and a quality management system, promote standardized operating procedures and replication of best practices to enhance customer satisfaction and consistent delivery.
• Drive the adoption of digital operational platforms like ERP, MES, and BI, establish critical operational KPIs, and leverage data analytics to support adept management decisions and ongoing improvements.
• Facilitate cooperation across departments including production, supply chain, sales, finance, and human resources; set up an operations PMO or equivalent office to steer major change and strategic operational projects.
• Build and nurture a high-performing operations team skilled in lean management and continuous improvement; foster a culture of operational excellence with active employee involvement.

Qualifications

• Educational background includes at least a bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration or related disciplines; an MBA or Lean Management Certification such as Lean or Six Sigma Black Belt is advantageous.
• A minimum of 20 years' experience in operations management or process improvement, including at least 15 years in senior leadership roles, with proven success in establishing superior operational systems in large-scale organizations.
• Expertise in operations system design, lean and continuous improvement methodologies, cost and efficiency management, cross-functional leadership, and organizational change management.
• Preferred credentials entail experience in manufacturing, supply chain, or large service sectors, global or multi-regional management background, involvement in digital transformation or smart manufacturing initiatives, and experience managing enterprise-level PMO or operations change offices.
